Yes, both the Madden Curse and Favre's disinterest in playing for the Jets have been mentioned many times already.
NFL Network just announced Brett was offered a contract from a AHL team! It's over! He is switching to hockey!
lets see how long it would take him to blow out his achilles at giants stadium..... remember these are the jets...they are not supposed to have such a distinguished player lead them to the promised land. jil
First off, I doubt they get a first for Favre unless Gruden HAS to have him. But the more I think about this, the more I'm talking myself into it, even for a first. I say a second rounder, no problem. If it HAS to be a first to get it done, then the thinking has to be that Favre gets us to the playoffs, so the first is a low first (25-32), and what's the big deal for that pick? I would take a shot at the SB for the next two years at the price of a low first rounder.
Green bay has "zero" leverage as far as a trade goes. The Jets should offer a third that can escalate to a two depending on things like winning a division. Green Bay cannot drag their feet waiting for their asking price. Their nightmare is Favre walking onto their practice field Monday morning as a Packer. At the same time, they would rather keep him out of the NFC. The Jets should low ball their offer and wait and see what the Packers do as the pressure mounts. But, has Favre indicated he would play in New York? It's all a waste of time discussing if Brett doesn't want to play here. And I do not blame Tannenbaum, Woody or God if Favre decides he doesn't want to play here.
So far all we have is an unconfirmed second-hand account from Chris Mortenson that Favre has no interest at all in playing for the Jets...
And I would do that in a heartbeat...the Jets haven't won anything since 69 and Brett gives them a chance to go deep into the playoffs.
Chad and a 3rd..but i kinda dont want Favre. Chad is would be an above average 2nd string behind rodgers
Trading a first round NFL pick for anyone in the league is usually ridiculous, even more so for a player at the end of his career, such as Favre. That said; it aint like the Jets have a stellar 1st round draft history which makes that pick a lock for the next 10 pro bowls.
Well, sort of. Brett Favre has thrown two touchdown passes to Terry Glenn, but neither was deep. Both were 14-yarders. One came at Giants Stadium against the Jets.
Aw, now thats just wrong  "Favre takes the snap, hands off to Jordan -NO, its a fake! He goes deep to Glenn, TOUCHDOWN!!!! 52 yards and a beautiful catch in stride and into the end zone!" Well, why not, its only money
You've already mortgaged your CAP future, why not add an over-priced, over-rated, over-the-hill, pick-prone media man to the lot, you're sure to go at best 8-8. We're laughing in NE, please get him and give up that #1 or #2. Tell em Arnold............DO IT...........DO IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
