Sec314 hopes our pricing is like this. I feel for the downstairs people. Man, anything over 2500 and I am done

Is It A Good Idea To Merge This Thread With The Jets PSL Thread?

I think this thread should be merged with the Jets PSL thread because, as PSL news articles are appearing, they usually have information about both franchises. We're going to wind up double-posting information.

Anyway, I've read several articles on this from various sources this morning and what I find interesting is the way the Giants are going about it. Most of us have been thinking that we'll be informed of what seat we are going to get BEFORE we have to shell out the money. Not so, at least with the Giants.

"Today the Giants will send out the first in a wave of mailings to season subscribers, covering 5,000 of the best seats in the current stadium. The process will run through February.

Fans wishing to buy PSLs must pay 20 percent of the cost 30 days after receiving the mailing, the next 40 percent by Aug. 1, 2009, and the final 40 percent by March 1, 2010."

This first wave of mailings was also mentioned in the Post, but they alos pointed out something pretty significant. They said that SEAT ASSIGNMENTS WON'T BE KNOWN UNTIL 2010!

So what they are doing is, starting with the most desireable seats in the house (the $20,000 seats), they are giving those people 30 days to give them an answer. They are also going to collect 20% as a deposit.

Then, the next wave goes out. They collect those deposits, and so forth. Finally, when all Sections have been notified, then and only then do you get to find out where your seats are.

That's just f@cking great. Because now, even if you pony up 20% of the PSL money, they still won't be telling you where your seats will be. Sure, you could be locking up, say, the Upper deck with your $200 deposit, only to find out later on that you committed to Row 48 in the corner!

I mean, the way the Giants are doing this... I mean even the way they are going about it, stinks. A guy can commit to a certain broad area or section and still not know if he has deceint seats within that area or the last row. And TS if you don't like the seats after you find out where they are, because you've already shelled out 100% of the PSL cost.

I bring this out because many of us have been under the impression that some sort of negotiating will take place for what seats, etc., (i.e., "I want my same seats"). Not so. You might have 1st Row in the Upper Section and fork up the money, only to find out you were displaced to the 18th Row by many of those above-mentioned 5,000 ticketholders that were initially notified of the $20,000 and committed to the Uppers instead.

Where would Section 127 translate to the new Stadium. If its Field 2, $10,000, $140, I think I'll jump out the window.
Assuming the Jets PSL is similar to the Giants.

As long as there are enough people out there who will pay for their product, then I'm sure they don't care who they are kicking out the door. They are realistic enough to know that very few fans will boycott the Jets altogether, even if that same organization caused them to have to lose their tickets, no matter how long they've had them for.
