Alright I haven't made a series thread all season, and want to start the 2nd half right. Friday - Mike Mussina vs. TBA(Blanton traded) Saturday - Joba Chamberlain vs. Greg Smith Sunday - Andy Pettitte vs. Justin Duchscherer Lots of potential to make up ground since Tampa Bay is against Burnett-Halladay, and Kazmir has to miss this weekend. And Boston is up against Lackey-Saunders-Weaver. Saunders/Beckett is the FOX Saturday game. Time to pick up some ground!
I never understand why Oakland trades away their players when they are right in the thick of the AL Race... 2 out of 3 at least. Anything else is a huge letdown. Hopefully the All-Star game pumped the team up to host yet another huge game (WS maybe) at Yankee Stadium before it closes, because the pre-game was nothing short of amazing.
Because Beane is smart enough to know his team is overachieving and wants to build a club that can dominate a couple years from now instead of pissing away assets to make a run this year because of a smoke and mirrors 1st half.
goin to the game tonight, yanks HAVE to sweep this series. I went to the homerun derby monday it was AMAZING!
YANKEES (50-45) Derek Jeter SS Bobby Abreu RF Alex Rodriguez 3B Jorge Posada DH Richie Sexson 1B Robinson Cano 2B Melky Cabrera CF Jose Molina C Brett Gardner LF Mike Mussina RHP
No they don't. Boston and Tampa have tough matchups, and the Yanks are going against three good pitchers, especially Duch...2/3 I'd be happy.
They need to send Gardner back down and then call him back up after he gets into a regular groove. He's always struggled the first time he's promoted to a new level.
1st game after the break Cano goes 2-4 with 3 RBIs. Sweet. Moose 12 wins is insane with the way he started this year.
First stint in AA: .272/.352/.318 Second stint in AA: .300/.398/.419 First stint in AAA: .260/.335/.333 Second stint in AAA: .287/.412/.429 It's not like this is a trend, or anything.
hopefully Joba has his good stuff today, because Doucherer is gonna likely throw down, like he does every start.
but this is the bigs my friend. in case you havent noticed, minor league trends dont always continue into the major league level...thats why only a small percentage of minor leaguers make it to the bigs and stay....theres another trend for ya:wink:
You could say that about anyone. All you can do is use the known information, and Gardner's history shows there's no reason to believe he can't make the adjustment, it just takes him a little longer.
