I was rooting for more innings in a weird way. I actually found myself really disappointed when he was declared safe, and even yelled at my screen.

And what was up with that Oscar music they were playing between innings? God awful and had no place in a sporting event.

I think all Mets fans can agree that Wagner wasn't an allstar, it is a shame Reyes didn't make it due to his unpopularity

Schilling opened his mouth about alot of things but I don't remember him ever showing a lack of respect for the game. Papelbon is a guy that eneds to be brought down a notch or 2 but when you see guys like him it makes you appreciate even more how Mariano has always done it w/ class.

Why? Mariano is having a better year so why should papelbon have been closing?

He said HE should be closing and that he earned it.

    That's a shot at Mariano.

Anyway, it was an exciting game. it was unfortunate the AL had no bench players left after about the 8th or so as we saw the same guys come up and fail w/ ROSP- I thought I was actually watching a Yankee game and that was our offense:mad:

Uggla looked lost out there, he did not want a ball hit to him. if he wasn't on the verge of becoming a millionaire I'd have felt bad for him.

Cook did an amazing job getting in and out of trouble and I think he would have been the MVP had the NL won it. I think Mariano may have won it if the AL had scored in the bot of the 10th like they should have.

The pregame ceremony was ok, I wasn't a big fan of wheeling in George as if he was babe Ruth. George has always opened the checkbook and that's great but his meddling has cost us big time throughout the years and he's the man responsible for moving us off that historic site.

No. Shitty fans are people cheering for a guy that assaults a 64 year old traveling secretary because he can't get enough tickets.

    Right. Sure you don't.

I've got 20 acres of beachfront property in Ohio for sale, if you're interested.

??? I didn't say I don't root for the guy I'm just saying that the insult could be easily countered with Yankee fans rooting for a steroid abuser(Giambi).

There's a pretty big difference between cheering a cheater, and cheering the beating of an innocent person.

Either way, it's silly to pretend that any team is clean, simply because the biggest names busted were Yankees. We've all cheered for cheaters, and it sucks, but it's true.

sure, you can counter it if all you are interested in is having a return jab, but they aren't comparable at all. that would be like a rapist trying to ridicule a shoplifter because they are both criminals.

Not even in the same ball park. Not that I really give a fuck, if guys like Giambi want to abuse their bodies and shrink their privates for a competitive advantage, that's fine by me.

A guy making $20million a year who physically assaults an elderly clubhouse flunky because he was unhappy about not getting some freebies, is not only a spoiled moron but an absolutely worthless human being. Congratulations on aiding and abettin in the enabling of that.

Wagner is terrible but I think we can all agree that the NL lost that game in large part to awful performances by NL East guys. Wagner who only needed to get 1 guy out and couldn't Uggla who was what 0-4 with how many K's and a costly error (Kazmir made him look like a child) and Lidge who just sucks.

I think they should institute a new rule; if a starting pitcher is too tired to pitch he is still an all-star but they can add another pitcher to the team to replace the guy that is too tired. I don't think Hurdle stuck with Webb because Webb said he was too tired to pitch after throwing 108 on Sunday and I couldn't imagine if Clint brought him back out in the 15th and Webb got hurt. If Webb had a replacemnet like Peavy or Santana the NL may have gotten it to the 16th. I think the best the NL could have hoped for was a tie because they couldn't hit at all, they looked like the Mets.

BTW how about Kazmir pitching around Wright and almost killing him.

If the NL was going to lose I'm glad it was Lidge who cost them the game, hopefully he has another meltdown and kills the Phillies down the stretch.
