    Yes it is a penalty.

I think had it been any player it would have been a penalty, he took a shot at the guys knees on the out of bounds line. The refs will throw a flag every time in that situation.

Junc, I just don't see where he takes a shot at his knees. He hits him in the hip. His hand goes out to brace his fall. Am I seeing this differently?

You are right, he hits him in the hip but he does go low at the out of bounds marker. It's a play that will be called a penalty every single time.

I agree this would often be called in this situation. Incorrectly.

then they shouldnt let the qb cross the line of scrimmage, hell tebow plays more like a rb than a qb anyway. he is continuously laying his shoulder into people.

he shouldnt have "given himself up" i would be pretty pissed if i was the coach and one of my players "gave himself up". thats his fault you are on a football field you run hard ALL THE TIME, when did this change? in the last ten years it changed, but thats another story. imagine what would have happened if walter payton didnt have people coming at him while going toward the sideline, hell they were coming at him and he still crushed them most of the time. tebow should do the same and stop giving up.

the rules for protecting qbs are definitely a joke in my eyes, when they decide to run the ball they should lose ALL protection that they are given in the pocket slide or no slide, but oh yeah qbs sell tickets so that will never happen.
