06/30 ? Jets fans eager to fill in their calendars with the dates and times for this year's training camp ? the 40th and last at their Hofstra University training base ? have to wait no longer.

The first full team practices of Eric Mangini's third camp as head coach will be two-a-days on Thursday, July 24, at the Long Island school's soccer stadium. These practices will be open to the public and the media.

Here's the schedule for the first seven days of workouts:

    Thursday, July 24 ? 2 practices

    Friday, July 25 ? 1 practice

    Saturday, July 26 ? 2 practices

    Sunday, July 27 ? 1 practice

Monday, July 28 ? 2 practices (both practices closed to the public)

    Tuesday, July 29 ? 2 practices

    Wednesday, July 30 ? 1 practice

The starting times are very similar to Mangini's first two summers at the helm. Two-a-days are scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Single practices will kick off at 1:30 p.m.

Jets rookies begin their orientation eight days earlier, on Wednesday, July 16. Then quarterbacks and injured veterans come in Sunday, July 20. The rest of the Green & White veterans report Wednesday, July 23.

As always, the camp schedule is subject to change. We'll have a calendar for you soon on newyorkjets.com.

Looking forward to the training camp reports on here, they were excellent. Good work to all those that did it last year.

Now that I live near by, I'm gonna try and make it to at least one or two a week. I'll see what I can do about posting reports....

Agreed. I think the TC reports are the best time of the season as far as TGG is concerned.

27 teams have rookies and vets reporting the same day and 5 teams have the rookies reporting earlier with the Jets scheduling the longest gap (7 days) between rookies and veterans. I like the idea of our rookies getting such a head start but was wondering if anyone knows why most other teams wouldn't choose to do the same. There is a imited number of practices alowable for TC right? So will these rookies just be familiarizing themselves with the facilities or doing casswork or what?

    Just no backwards passes....PLEASE!!!!

Ya know, the play that Wilfork ended up going the other way with in the playoff game.

I'm so sick of the backwards pass. It doesn't even work when you play on the street and the minivan and tree are the respective end zones, and it's the same reason. Someone sniffs it out and is in the backfield.

If that's one of the super secret plays.....we're fucked. Again

Going to try to make it the first week, possibly the 2nd with Kurt and T-Bird and whoever else wants to join us... then whatever after that.

I'm not the greatest technician, but I try to contribute to the TC reports as best I can. This is my last trek from central Jersey, thank God.
