we fans are suckers, that's the bottom line.... .......we keep paying, they'll keep charging. I'm sure most people have renewed their seson's for this year by now..........but one way maybe the fans can be heard is not showing up at games this year, even in the nice weather, and not selling their tickets either.........but that'll never happen bottom line.......if they announce PSL's we should all be boycotting the games ......if we're not willing to do that, than we have no right to complain in the end we get screwed again anyway because we already prepaid for parking and tickets.....but at least they won't get any game day cash, and will have the embarrasment of an empty stadium on opening day........now that would be something
How's it working out? NYC is the greatest tourist attraction in the country has the highest real estate values in the country, the highest hotel occupancy rates in the country, the highest tax base in the country, one of the best educated and highest producing work forces any where on the planet. I would say it's working out pretty well on any compartive basis. It's simply the most interesting and greatest place to live in this country with more to do, more services, more recreation options than almost anywhere on the planet.
So then never build anything new? Leave a hole in the ground where the WTC was? Empty rail yards and a convention center people can't get to instead of a booming area with a brand new stadium right along the river? NYC is a great place, but on it's own, no thanks to the people who run it.
Ok herm and boobway didnt work out, but can you blame him for that? He is a owner, not a FO person. I would rather have him than Jerry Jones who his always sticking his nose into football buisness. Besides what do you want from him, he has been willing to spend the money now its up to the players and coaches to produce. Anyway, This new stadium is going to be gorgeous and anyone who thinks that the meadowlands is a modern and adequate stadium is nuts.
I think I would rather have Jerry Jones. They kicked our ass last year, generally are perennially a good team, and they have their own stadium in the state that contains the city they are named after. They win Super Bowls, are a national team............stop me at any time here.
That's why our owner didn't get it he tried to steal it from the City and State. He should have paid for the job.
Hey women, we don't need a roof. Its Football and the cold weather keeps people like you at home with their wives. Laugh all you want at my upper deck seats with the 1k PSL and $100 per game ticket. Start saving big shot. BBRRRRUUCCCCEEEE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! And BTW, as much as love the Jets, don't compare what they do to the Yanks.
He was going to pay for the stadium, he wanted the city and state to cover up their own mess with a platform and they wouldn't do it. You know, because there are so many other people just dying to invest a billion dollars into their empty rail yards.
I go to every game, and I'm on record on this site saying the best game I ever went to was when they played Pittsburgh in a blizzard in 03. You go to that game? So much fun that day.
The platform I agree with you on but there was a small issue about the roof which is what made this stadium the bonanza that Woody invisioned. By the way he wasn't actually going to pay for anything. He was going to borrow a down payment from the league and than pay it back with PSL's. The Stadium would have cost Woody exactly zero if he didn't actually make 50 million on the PSL's.
Either way, the only thing he wanted from NY was the platform, which the Dolans & friends distorted into taking money away from cops, firemen, Ground Zero, et al. If they put a roof on, which they were going to, the Super Bowl was a done deal, that would have brought money back into the city. So would a Final Four and countless other high profile events, even without the Olympics. Not to mention what would have happened with the surrounding area and the #7 train. That would have made Javits and therefore New York City a much more viable place for trade shows throughout the entire year, bringing countless more millions of dollars into the city's economy.
I was there! Loved the guy with the leaf blower fooling around at the goal line, trying to melt the snow while the action was down the other end.
Yes I did. I don't miss games for nothing. Lets end this back and forth. We are both hard core and love our team. we are acting like one of us is a Patriot fan. Jets in 08
I'd buy you a beer at a game, but I really don't hang with the steerage in the upper deck.........I'm KIDDING!!!!!!!
