Let?s hope Mangini goes back to his feared, asskicking TC from 2006. From what i?ve heard last year?s camp was a lot softer.

No ,this is the last year at Hofstra, should be an even bigger madhouse then usual...Unless of course the Long Islanders get smart and don`t show up at all this year as their way to protest from moving ,will it keep them from moving to Florem Park of course not ,but it may have them think about doing 1 weekend of training camp a year in LI

They are probably starting earlier so the orginization has more time to relocate everything and everyone in August to NJ. I am hoping Mangini is smarter about training camp and does not beat them up like he has the last 2 years. We do not look sharp at the beginning.

  6. I'm assuming it will still be going on the first week of august?

Man oh man, they're starting early this year. I scheduled my trip this year first week of august as that is usually the 2nd week of practice

We're starting earlier because that's the type of coach Mangini is. I'm sure he wants to maximize the time he has to prepare the team for the season.

Wow, just a couple weeks! It felt so far away. Come on Jets, make this a season to remember...for the RIGHT reasons.

So he wasn't Mangini the last 2 years? The jets entire org. is relocating after camp so they need more time to get moved and settled so we can concentrate on game 1 . Its that simple

I disagree...in 2006 the Jets looked extremely sharp in the beginning of the season.

I think they should have a hard TC. We looked ready to play in 2006 (hard camp), but we seemed disorganized and not fully prepared for the start of 2007 (softer camp).

On the other hand, accomplishing that (hard camp), if that is the plan, will require the release or re-signing of Baker. Baker will clearly be going at things half-hearted at best. He will set the wrong example - the situation must be rectified within the next 2 or 3 weeks.

I seriously doubt Baker is going to dictate how the rest of the team practices. We're talking about grown men who are professionals - they aren't going to take their lead from a guy acting like a clown. The only thing he will effect is the parking situation and the number of available beds in the rookie dorm.

The rookies usually report early anyway, but yeah, it looks like the whole schedule is bumped up by at least a week.

I like the idea. There are a lot of new faces on this team this year (at 4-12 we needed new faces), so this will give the guys a chance to gell and get to know one another, both on and off the field.

I can't wait to go to TC this year. It's the last year for me to have to schlepp from central Jersey, so there will be a little nostalgia going on with the old Hofstra location, but I'm looking forward to the NJ location too.

    Go Jets in '08!

I will say until my face is blue. This is not some macho Vince Lombardi move to make these guys work longer and harder or until they fall over. THE ENTIRE ORGINIZATION AND EVERY ASSET THEY OWN NEED TO BE RELOACTED TO NJ AND EVERY EMPLOYEE NEEDS TO MOVE TO NJ INCLUDING THE PLAYERS BETWEEN THE END OF CAMP AND THE START OF THE SEASON. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm more worried about getting Gholston signed and ready to go for the beginning of Rookies TC, especially, since the Rams and Chiefs are starting much later than the Jets.

Thats a good point. Gholston will most likely miss alot of the camp.

Yeah, I think your right. Baker should not have a bearing on the camp.
