So I have entered my 5th off season of NCAA football 08, When it comes time to recruit I dont know how I should be recruiting, for instance at the moment I have a red shirt sophmore MLB who has a 95 ratting, however as I was recruiting I got a freshman MLB, idealy I would love to see my current sophmore MLB stay on for another season. Which begs the question, do you do your recruiting on a talent basis or a need basis?

What team are you? It's good to recruit players that fill holes on your roster, but if you don't have any needs, go after the best recruits in the nation.

You should just redshirt the freshman linebacker

    or

If your OLBs aren't very good, you can start the freshman outside and move him inside when the veteran player graduates/leaves early.

I try to go after the fastest players at wideout and defensive back. I also like to recruit high ranking athletes and use them all over the place. I just recruited a 4 star athlete: I converted him into a defensive end. He has 92 speed and 76 strength. I've redshirted him as a freshman, but he should be a four year starter and he should be a sack artist.

I'm in my 7th season with Eastern Michigan. I've just joined the Big Ten, and my talent level is a lot lower than most teams in the conference. I basically rely on my speed at receiver to win games. I used to run the veer option offense with this team when I was in the MAC, but now I'm switching over to spread option attack, because the defenses are too fast. My defense is always solid. I recruit strong defensive ends and move them to defensive tackle. I like having undersized, faster defensive lines.

I still haven't had the #1 recruiting class in the nation, because I like to play with smaller teams and build them up.

Im LSU, but I just forget who I recruited really highly the previous year I already started the new season, I mean I have a few freshman starting, for some reason I feel moraly wrong if I dont start older players even if they are like the same level (regardless of possition) like I have junior who is level 80 but then I know I have a freshman who is an 80 and I know my starter wont be returning but the freshman will be more improved next season

It's a video game. You shouldn't feel "morally wrong"...

In actual college football, coaches usually start the best players, no matter what grade they are...especially at skill positions like wideout and running back.
