A few years ago we voted on position by position for most valuable Jet at each position, let's start with TE:

Mickey Shuler- My pick, great hands, tough, came to play every game

Pete Lammons- A close second, great hands, good blocker

Rich Caster- great deep threat, great speed and no hands
Jerome Barkum- great deep threat, great speed, not a good blocker
Kyle Brady- OT at TE, stone hands
Anthony Becht- Kyle Brady only not as good
    Fred Baxter- servicable TE
    Johnny Mitchell- head case

Becht was a better blocker than Brady- probably the best blocking TE we've ever seen. He was essentially a 6th lineman when he was in the game. Shuler + Becht in one body would have been a thing of beauty.

Add in Caster and you pretty much have it.

    I'd say Shuler #1, Barkum #2, Brady #3.

Too bad about Johnny Mitchell, he could have been the best one.

I hope Dustin Keller tops this list when his career is over.

Brady's best year with the Jets was '98 with 315 yards and 5 TD's- nothing remarkable to say the least. Also, I don't think that he really came into his own as a blocker until later in his career with JAX- certainly a few steps below Becht.

    Mickey Shuler
    Jerome Barkum
    Pete Lammons
    Fred Baxter
    Rich Caster
    Chris Baker

I refuse to even mention the others since they were such significant disappointments as 1st round picks.
Kyle Brady drafted #9 overall makes D-Rob's pick a steal at #4 overall.

I agree...I always felt like he should have added 30 pounds to his frame...I know that is easier said then done, but if he could have done that he would have been a good OLineman.
