http://www.nj.com/business/index.ssf/2008/06/metlife_is_first_major_sponsor.html Get Met. It pays. That advertising slogan certainly rings true for the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. Metlife said today it has become the first major marketing partner of the Meadowlands in New Jersey, the future home of the New York Giants and New York Jets. That means MetLife will have the exclusive naming rights to brand one of the four main entrances to the new stadium as well as one of the four main scoreboards inside the stadium. MetLife will also become the official life insurance company of the Giants and Jets.
Talk about a naked money grab - they're going for four major marketing partners plus naming rights for the stadium itself.
How is it a scam? The advertiser knows what they're getting and agrees to pay x amount. Would you rather the fans have to pay for it all? This is America, advertising pays the bills.
cmon 17a your better than this, just one entrance is gonna be called metlife, NOT THE STADIUM, everybody the stadium is NOT GONNA BE CALLED METLIFE
