I can remember our worst ten year stretch. An entire decade, the 70's, without a playoff appearance. My only consolation was that the Giants went through the same stretch. Pretty sure of it. Don't think any other teams have ever went a decade without a playoff appearance and NY had two in the same period.

That still might be some sort of record.

Exactly what answer do you want from me about a player who is no longer a NYJ? Why would you want to bring it up since JV is just another #1 draft flop to go with many, many others thru the years. Just look at Herms & Bradway 5 #1 draft choices & then say to yourself wow maybe if we had drafted better we would be much closer to the SB then we are now. To save you time they were Santana, Robertson, Thomas, Jolly (Nuge) & JV. 3 of the 5 are ex NYJs already. Thomas is not a 1st tier play & Nuge was a wasted draft pick

I just want you to acknowledge that when you aren't just stating the ridiculously obvious ("the NYJs need better players or they'll never win the SB" -- BTW when exactly did you figure that out, during the Coslet years?) you make stuff up so much that its difficult for you to keep it all consistent. Thats not too much to ask, is it? You don't think JV was a good pick, and to denigrate Jet fans who root for the guy, you made up stats. Admit that, and we're all done.

BTW, I agree with you on Thomas, Jolley and Nuge. The others at least showed some semblence of ability.

For what the team gave up for Robertson he should have been a perenial Pro Bowl player not one that showed ability. Thomas is a bust he played for a contract in 06. Moss was trapped with Chads arm and his injuries hurt him as well. I think Vilma will be an all pro next season for the Saints. That Jolly Nugent Fiasco is an absolute joke. The reason we are not in a position to win goes back to the horrible drafting by the team over years.

I don't disagree, but that isn't the point. The point is Champ makes up stats to dog Jets players the rest of us -- real fans -- root for. Because we like the Jets. What team do you root for?

Are you now saying the FO listens to what I post about NYJ players & that is the reason JV is now a Saint? If it is thanks for the compliment

^Hey, maybe thats it. But that can't be. That would mean that you and the FO agree on something. That would mean you both evulated yourselves to the identical conclusion as to a players talents. But we know the Jets evulation of players has been hopelessly medicore because they never win the SB. And that you have provided us with the answer to winning the SB: get better players.

So how can you be in agreement with the FO? Makes no sense. Unless . . . you ARE the front office. Can you see the little lightbulb go off over my head?

And now we know why the NYJs never bring a championship to the NY/NJ/CT metro area.

If you go back thru the JV threads you will find another poster actually posted JV stats so I was not making it up as you say. If JV was soooooooooooooooo good as you seem to think then he would still be a starting LBer for the NYJs not now a NOS so what I posted about him is totally correct. Now if you wish to delude yourself into believing otherwise then fine go ahead but do not accuse others whose fingers are on the pulse of what is going on to be making things up.

Where read your post that is what you are claiming & again thanks for the kudos saying the FO listens to my recommendations. Maybe if there was a internet in the 70s & 80s & early 90s you can blame me (how silly) for the NYJs futile record since 01/13/69 but since there was none your claim is just plain inane

^^ No no, I'm not saying you were wrong to voice your opinion that Vilma was overrated. What was wrong was saying you kept track of his tackles and could prove he was no good. When you were asked for the stats you backed off saying you couldn't post them because you kept them by hand. Then you backed off even further by denying you ever kept track of the tackles in the first place.

In your haste to trash Vilma, you made something up about him. Credibility. Look it up in the dictionary. Try dictionary.com.

Yes because I only doing it in my head from watching the games. Then again as I commented someone actually COMPILED JV stats & posted them on TGG & they prove that my crude system was totally on target. If you still do not believe it go back & find that others poster stats

So you did, then you didn't and now you did keep track of Vilmas tackles. This was when you were only watching the games the Jets won I bet.

Okay, my bad. (Liar, liar pants on fire).

"Your claim is just plain inane." I like that. Champster Rap.

Could have been in the era I only watched the "Ws' which was several years back. However with JV average of making most tackles 5 or more yds D/field I would doubt that was the case since you are not going to win most games with the other side controling the ball. BTW I see the same type attraction for VG that I saw for JV & until VG proves he is a player fans should not think he is next coming of LT & he to may wind up exactly the same as JV making tackles 5 yards down the field. Will see how good he is when the gun goes off for game 1

Lets see this is my 43rd year of having season tix. What team do you think I root for knowing that stat? No on VG just saying until he deserves the accolades do not give them to him. So far beyond that word POTENTIAL he has done nothing except being drafted 6th by us to earn any kudos yet
