Crying? No. He was smiling and his eyes were watering because Gomes was scratching them like the bitch he is.

Well I would bet he didn't box in college or even high school, noone would risk a hand injury to a MLB quality prospect. So it was probably golden gloves when he was like 14

After getting swept in Boston (Atleast we went down with a fight)

We then took 2 of 3 games @ Texas, and anyone that follows baseball knows that the Rangers have a really tough hitting lineup, It's the pitching that hurts em.

We also just beat the 1st Place Angels 13-4 Last night on the road. We play two more games against the Angels on the road before playing 9 home games in a row, This Rays team is only 1 game behind Boston, and we are looking pretty good with Carlos Pena and Troy Percival both just about ready to play again

Play hard through the All-Star break, and then assume your right and proper place in the ladies' toilet. Shame, though. A good crop of talented players stuck in baseball's poorly black hole.

I just thought I would bump this thread, made it over 4 months ago... Some Rays banwagon fan eh? I knew we had a special team and you know why? Because I seen them lose for 9+ years... I knew we were contenders, everyone else thought it was a fluke but I knew better...I know the game of baseball and I know a solid overall team when I see one...And this year, I seen it in the Rays... You know what? This young team will only continue to get better

McDonald is a better defensive short stop than Jason Bartlett? Dude, are you kidding me? Bartlett was the glue to this Rays defense all year long!

Once again...Back in June, you were wrong...Nothing new because you've been wrong about this Rays team all year long. Just admit it. Like I said back in June on this site...Our pitching and defense has been exciting all year long.

Kazmir, Shields, Garza, Jackson and Sonnanstine all had over 10 wins this year, and our bullpen was one of the best in the game. And what about David Price? Like I said...This kid is a beast.

Hmmm.... Not only did we keep up with the Red Sox and Yankees...But the Rays actually took the AL East and are now known as the AL East Champions here in 2008.

Guess what? Just about every player on this Rays team now has pennant race experience... Guess you cant say that garbage next year. Like I been saying...It's talent, heart and effort that wins baseball games... Not "Experience"

#1...We are already legitimate contenders....This year.

#2...These young players WILL BE together for a long time..."few years"? You have no idea.

#3... Who cares what you seen this year? The Rays have proved you wrong all year and I'm glad that I can now say... "I told you so"

Keep on calling the Rays..."Devil Rays"... Pretty soon you will be calling them uncle.

Just for a question. How many Devil Rays fans are walking around today asking, "What the hell am I supposed to do with this mohawk and this stupid fucking cowbell"?

Soon enough, that team will all be Sox, Yanks, Mets, or Angels. But cowbells last forever.

Crawford is ALREADY on the trade block, as is Sonnanstine. And they don't plan on increasing payroll by any significant amount, if at all.

Rays will be obsolete again in T-Minus...

If David Price replaces Sonnanstine in the rotation, that's likely to be an improvement.

The way TBJF talks about Sonnanstine, you'd think he was the second coming of Koufax.

not to bump this thread but, they made a pretty noteworthy move trading away edwin Jackson for Matt Joyce.

I think this i a great move for the rays, they had a hole at right fied, argueably the only hole on the team (maybe ss)

anyway, I saw this Matt Joyce while he was playing for the minor league team affiliate of the Tigers, and he is the real deal. He has power speed, defense. I was standing on the right field wall, and these kids i was standing next to had these signs that said trade for Joyce with an iron pigs hat on his picture, and it was cool and he started talking to us during the game. Anyway, all im saying is that i think this guy could help fill argueably the rays only weakness
