That's right...I won a fantasy Championship in a highly competitive league! It was sweet to win once, but now I need to kick my preperation up a notch so that I can hopefully repeat. I have the last pick in round one and the first pick in Round 2 (Picks 10 and 11). For the most part, we can safely assume that Ladainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Brian Westbrook and Steven Jackson will ALL be gone. So who are the guys you would target at 10 and 11? I personally am hoping to land one of the top 3 QB's (Except for Brady) and a nice do it all RB. So I will go ahead and say that I am targeting Portis and Romo with my first picks. Who would you target and why?
While I admire your anti-Brady/Patriot conviction, not taking a player in a competetivie (money?) fantasy league simply because you don't like him is silly. If Brady is still on the board there I think you have to take him. I would try to get one RB and a QB or WR. In years past I would have definitely said take the best 2 RBs on the board, but times have changed.
Hahaha, he's on my team right now but I had no choice my best QB was like Brian Griese. I took the team over in a money league after a guy left.
I don't draft Patriots, Dolphins, or Bills. I never have and never will. My team is consistantly one of the top teams in the league ever year too. If Joseph Addai falls to you, pull the trigger. It shouldn't happen, but if it does, don't hesitate. Clinton Portis, Ryan Grant, Willis McGahee, and Marion Barber will probably be the next best options.
I don't use Yankees in fantasy baseball, but I will use Patriots, Dolphins, and Bills in fantasy football. Maybe this is why I am dominant in fantasy football and mediocre in fantasy baseball.
ur just being stoopid...really. I'd get 2 RBs...Romo should still be there in the 3rd or McNabb (my personal fanatsy comeback player of the year). As for the RBs, McGahee, Lynch, JONES, Gore (although he burned me last year), Johnson, and MJD are all solid picks.
Romo in the 3rd round? Are you serious? He had over 4,000 yards passing and nearly 40 TD's passes...He is a early second to late second round pick. No way he slips to the 3rd. I just don't see it.
That's interesting. I got A-Rod, Hamilton, Utley, Ichiro, and D Lee in a 10 team league with some buds, but I am only in 3rd because my pitching isn't good, with the exception of Cliff Lee and Dan Haren. In our serpentine draft, I took A-Rod #1 overall
If all the QBs and all the WRs projected to go in the top two rounds are gone, then there are going to be hella RBs available. Unheard of in my money league. This'll be my fourth year in my money league with guys that are 10 year fantasy veterans. There is no slipping by, no lucky breaks. I broke strategy and took Peyton towards the end of the 2nd round just because he was still there, and in retrospect, it was a bad move. Every year there is a QB who lights it up only to be mediocre the next year. With Romo's aging WR corps, and Felix Jones in the mix, and a good D, I have a feeling that Dallas will be running more and passing less. No way should you take Romo in the first two rounds. My best advice is to figure out who will not be in a RBBC and target them for your first two picks. End of 3rd/beginning of 4th will be a fine time to get a WR1 and QB1.
I was good in 2006 and didn't play fantasy baseball at all in 2007. I am in one league this year. My team is in 6th place in a 14-team league. I missed the first 5 rounds of the draft and got stuck with Bobby Abreu. I traded him for Gary Sheffield. I also made a bunch of other moronic moves. Only half the players I drafted are still on my team. Somehow I am still above .500.
Yeah, that is good. If the league uses the very basic traditional settings, I almost always go... 1st round- RB 2nd round- RB 3rd round- WR or QB 4th round- WR or QB (depending upon what position I target in the 3rd round) 5th round- RB 6th round- RB or WR 7th round and beyond- whatever makes sense at the time This works if you draft the right players. I've now played in 32 leagues since 2000 and made the playoffs in 26 or 27, and made it to 13 or 14 title games.
Wow did you get players assigned to you for your missed picks? That's a miracle that your team is above 500. Mine's a points league on Yahoo

i wouldnt go running back 1st two rounds any more just because theres so many running backs by committee
Yeah, but good QBs and WRs can always be found after the 1st two rounds. For instance, last year in my money league I drafted Braylon Edwards and Wes Welker.
