Well, I'm sure you guys will bash me for this, but I'm bored and thought I would take a stab at how we shape up this up coming season......These are based on pure gut instinct and have no basis on stats, players, match ups, etc. Thoughts, comments..... ?:martin::up: Week Date Game 1 Sep 07 NYJ @ MIA 1:00 PM Win 2 Sep 14 NE @ NYJ 4:15 PM Loss 3 Sep 22 NYJ @ SD 8:30 PM Loss 4 Sep 28 ARI @ NYJ 1:00 PM Win 5 Bye 6 Oct 12 CIN @ NYJ 1:00 PM Win 7 Oct 19 NYJ @ OAK 4:15 PM Win 8 Oct 26 KC @ NYJ 1:00 PM Win 9 Nov 02 NYJ @ BUF 1:00 PM Loss 10 Nov 09 STL @ NYJ 1:00 PM Loss 11 Nov 13 NYJ @ NE 8:15 PM Win 12 Nov 23 NYJ @ TEN 1:00 PM Loss 13 Nov 30 DEN @ NYJ 1:00 PM Loss 14 Dec 07 NYJ @ SF 4:05 PM Win 15 Dec 14 BUF @ NYJ 1:00 PM Win 16 Dec 21 NYJ @ SEA 4:05 PM Loss 17 Dec 28 MIA @ NYJ 1:00 PM Win 9-7 wild card spot
I'm realistically calling 10 wins. Look at our schedule: Week 1: @ Miami should be a win Week 2: vs. New England I expect a loss Week 3: @ San Diego (Monday Night) Tough game, probable loss Week 4: vs. Arizona should be a win Week 5: Bye 2-2 at the break Week 6: vs. Cincinnati could go either way, but I'll say win Week 7: @ Oakland should be a win Week 8: vs. Kansas City I'll call a win Week 9: @ Buffalo We always lose at Buffalo, but coin flip game here Week 10: vs. St. Louis I'll say win Week 11: @ New England loss, not much to say about it Record through 10 games: 5-3, with 2 toss-up games, let's say 6-4 Week 12: @ Tennessee another toss-up game. I expect a win. Week 13: vs. Denver I'll say another win, but again a toss-up game Week 14: @ San Francisco needs to be a win Week 15: vs. Buffalo Should be a win Week 16: @ Seattle probably a loss Week 17: vs. Miami definite win So our record: We have 8 "probable wins" 4 "probable losses" and 4 "toss-up" games. If there's one thing we know about Mangini, its that his team wins the games they should win, and even last year, stole a win against a better team. This means the Jets should win around 9-11, but I'll temper my excitement and say 8-10.
I thought this was NFL predictions, not Jets predictions. I've been real busy but slowly doing my NFL predictions. We should have a seperate thread for that also. Then maybe we can sticky both of these for the season. That would be neat. Anyway, 10-6. Losses to NE, NE, SD, Buf, Sea, Stl.
Week 1: @ Miami WIN Week 2: vs. New England LOSS Week 3: @ San Diego (Monday Night) LOSS Week 4: vs. Arizona WIN Week 5: Bye Week 6: vs. Cincinnati WIN Week 7: @ Oakland WIN Week 8: vs. Kansas City WIN Week 9: @ Buffalo WIN Week 10: vs. St. Louis WIN Week 11: @ New England WIN Week 12: @ Tennessee WIN Week 13: vs. Denver LOSS Week 14: @ San Francisco WIN Week 15: vs. Buffalo WIN Week 16: @ Seattle WIN Week 17: vs. Miami WIN We finally sweep buffalo, sweep miami again, split with Pats. They get us early at home, we improve as the season goes along and take them out in week 11 in foxboro. Only slip up after 1-2 start is Denver in Week 13. There are a few possible losses in there, but we can definitely beat all those teams I listed as wins. 13-3 AFC East Champs
We should win alot of games but until the defense is dominant we wont.If we were n the NFC id say playoffs but since we arent 7-9 or 8-8
Interesting, thanx, but its not like a pattern like most of the time we sweep fiins, and most of the time we split with NE, and Buffalo
Way too early to figure out what's likely to happen this season. We'll have a really good idea after we see three exhibition games. That's about the point that last season started to look potentially laughable.
Yeah we don't know our starters, we have no idea who will be injured by start of season etc. Bump this around late August and then I'll give a crack at it.
They mean a lot in terms of figuring out the team's basic competency. Last year we saw an offensive line getting manhandled in the exhibition games and it was pretty clear things would only get worse when the real games rolled around. This year I'll only be watching three things in the exhibition games: the offensive line, the front seven in the 3-4 and the QB's. Those three things are going to determine collectively whether or not the Jets go 4-12 again or as much as 10-6 or so.
I predict Jets won't see another superbowl for forty more years. But Every Year we will hear how this years going to be diffrent. October Raiders 42- Jets 7. D Mcfadden after running for 200 yards , shows jet fans why you don't win meaniless games.
