macknova.blogspot.com This took me a few days, but I finally did it. I'm going to post a few more things on there soon as well and give my final grades.
Get over it Raiders took Mcfadden and Jets were left with gholston. IF Mcfadden IYO is thebest player in this draft, than there is no way Raiders get less than a A-. KC taking L Johnson a couple year ago, when they had priest Holmes. How did that work out? NOw facts your missing. Yes Raiders are loaded at RB but they cando so much with Mcfadden, to help there offense. Bigger more athlethic Reggie Bush. They can move him out in slot , where your asking a LB or safety to try and match up with him. They can line him up at QB , like Jets do with Brad Smith. Unlike smith , Mcfadden is capable of throwing the football. Anytime Mcfadden touches it, he has the potential to take it to the house. That kind of weapon opens up for evefryone. For example a Fake Pitch out to MCfadden going to get safeties moving up. Once that Happens Raiders burners have very good chance of getting behind opposition secondary . Another example jamarcus Russell getting pressure, he dumps it off and Mcfaddenn takes it to the house. Glenn Dorsey made no sense for Raiders. ONE Dorsey plays the same position(Undertackle) that Raiders are paying Tom kelly big money to play. Two Raiders are slowly moving toward a 3-4 defense. You draft Dorsey, you better be 100% sure he can play NT or its Dwayene obertson situation all over again.
Didn't you vehemently deny McFadden going to Oakland due to the godlike RBs they already had on their roster?
Yes he does. Has Brad smith ever completed a pass. HIm lining up at QB has become a joke. Everyone knows its a run. Next your going to tell me Brad Smith faster and more athlethic than Mcfadden. P,s Hey Mangini maybe you should have Brad Smith work on being a fulltime Wr,(learn his craft) before you think about gimmicks for Brad Smith.
YEs But after Raiders addressed their needs in FA, IT was either Gholston or Mcfadden. Raiders did alot on defense this offseason. Mcfadden brings a diiffrent dimension to Raiders RBs. A weapon you can use in variety of ways. Whether its as a rb , A reciever, and A Qb. When he is in the game, defense have to account for everytime. That opens it up for everyone else to be sucessful.
You don't watch college football, so you have no clue about McFadden's ability to throw a football. He simply does not throw the ball any better than Smith throws it. It is that simple.
Yo raider joe, what you trying to prove ? You're actually going to argue that McFadden passes better than brad smith? I understand you enjoy arguing, but make a little sense please. Yah I agree with you that the McFadden pick up was solid, and very similar to the priest holmes L johnson scenario, but you can't sit there and say Dorsey made no sense. I don't care where he lines up on the DL he is a stud and the best player in the draft. F the 3-4 transition if that is even real info and you have easily a top 10 defense to go along with russell, and Fargus. One other thing bud. You must not count out micheal bush. The kid will be a good player. RB's are interchangeable unless they are a sure bet, much like WR. McFadden will not add up to the hype. Dorsey will be a prowl bowler in the game for many years. jonathan stewart will be the best RB in this draft followed by kevin smith.
I'm not trying to say Smith is better than McFadden, but Smith's position in college was QB and passed for over 8,000 yards. It is true that we are utilizing his different attributes but I think we will see him throw a little bit more this year...You don't throw 8,000 yards in IA college ball and suddenly forget how to when you reach the NFL.
Yeah, I'm sure he will work out just great and compliment all the other perennial all stars. Just like the previous 4 top 5 picks you guys have made in the past 4 years. Funny how Fabian Washington was far better than Revis until the Raiders start trying to move him. THEN he's expendable and of course you guys have better options.
NO you need to learn to read. What I said and its accurate. Fabian Washington rookie season was better than D Revis rookie year.( did you see how teams abused revis in the first half of last season) Revis played 1/2 of season very well and Jets fans are crazy putting him a catergory that he dosen't deserve to be put in yet. Lets see if Revis can build on that second half sucess. Your not going to know how good revis is for at least a couple years. REASON BEING JETS NUMBER 2 and number 3 CB are horrible. Why even throw Revis way , when you have easy completion on the other Cbs. Think T Buck.
Again Dorsey best position is undertackle. Is that an accurate statement. Raiders gave TOm Kelly a very large contract to play that undertackle position. Youn can't have so much money tide up in one position. Dorsey can't play every position on the Dline. Thats just wrong. Didn't you learn anything with D robertson. Dorsey goes to probowl it will be as an undertackle, not at any other position on Dline. NOw couple of points. How did Dorsey and his second ranked defense at LSU do in stopping D Mcfadden. Mcfadden single handly almost derailed their national championship dreams. NOw why will MCfadden be the best RB in this draft. One hes going to a team that uses Denver blocking scheme and uses it very well(six best rushing team) Usually you can put any Rb behind that system and hes going to have sucess. You put a stud rb like Mcfadden in that system,- watch out. Raiders oline stretch out the defense and their lineman cut the Dline at their knees. Your going to get some monster holes for Mcfadden to exploit. M Bush is going to be a big time weapon for the Raiders next season also. Both him and Mcfadden going to give Raiders two weapons catching the ball out of backfield.(something that is not fargas strength) You can play both of them in backfield together. Lets see teams LBs or safetys stay with Mcfadden. ( Just might force teams to play with an extra Cb than a LB) Lets see a Cb come up and bring the monster bush down with a full head of steam. BTw - Against Lsu Mcfadden lined up alot at QB(ala your Brad Smith) . Now which player scarys a defense more Mcfadden o0r Brad Smith lining up at QB. (short yardage situation)
BRad Smith can't pass the ball- we know this as a fact. When he came in at QB teams played the run everytime. I can't remeember once where he hurt a defense with the pass last year. I don'T CARE HOW MANY YARDS HE THREW IN COLLEGE. This isn't college anymore, but the NFL. (speed alot diffrent and margin for error isn't as great) There was talk about saving a roster spot and going with Brad smith as emergency Qb. They tried him at QB alot, and his embarrassing performance gave Tuiasosopo a roster spot. I hope tuiasosopo took Brad Smith outb for dinner, for that one.
Jamarcus Russell is going to have fun becoming a bust because he's throwing to a headcase and a bunch of midgets. The only thing the Raiders have going for them is their secondary, and Asomugha will be gone after 2008, so that won't last for long. I bet it feels good to know that the majority of your favorite team's money is being used on way too many running backs, an EXTREMELY overpaid unheard of defensive lineman, an unproven, out of shape quarterback, a mentally screwed receiver, and a big mouth corner that was completely exposed in 2007. That's 5 overpaid and unsure positions filled...I think there's about 17 more that the Raiders need to worry about. It pays to draft about 6 to 7 kick returners every year, doesn't it?
Jamarcus Russell job is alot easier than alot of QBs. HIs development should be alot smoothier. WHY? He has a proven running game to lean on. Thats not even counting on big time additions of M Bush and D Mcfadden. How does MCfadden open up the passing offense. Easily fake pitcches out to Him and that freezes safeties long enough for Raiders burners to get behind a secondary. The Drew carters 6'3 200 , The Chaz schillens 6'4 225 42 inch vertical sub 4.4 speed. Dump passes off to Mcfadden have chance to go to the house everytime. M Bush and Mcfadden are going to be terrors coming out of backfield. yEA YOU WISH REVIS TURNED OUT JUST HALF OF WHAT dEANGELO hALL IS.
Raiders wr corps midgets. OkAy i would adviise you to look at at their roster. (to educate yourself) Jamarcus Russell job is alot easier than alot of QBs. HIs development should be alot smoothier. Drew Carter is a nobody. He was unproductive in Carolina, and he's ALWAYS injured. Chaz Schilens* (educate yourself and spell his fucking name right) is a 7th round pick...I wouldn't get your hopes up to high. The Raiders running game is not "proven". Their running game was decent LAST SEASON, but with Justin Fargas, who barely got over 1000 yards. Michael Bush had nothing to do with that. He is unproven, and so is Darren McFadden. I'm really scared of those safety freezing fake pitches though... Oakland's offense is probably the most unproven in this league, because they're so young and unproductive. They have so many question marks on offense: 1. Javon Walker - He's a headcase, and I don't blame him for being one either. Sad story. 2. Jamarcus Russell - Can't put down burgers and pick up a playbook. They surrounded him with speed, not talent. 3. Drew Carter/Ronald Curry - Give me a break. Curry would be a 4th string receiver anywhere else in the NFL. Carter = garbage. 4. Darren McFadden/Michael Bush - Both can be big time players, but they haven't proved anything yet. 5. MIDGET WRs Johnnie Lee Higgins/Drisman James - Fast, but not productive. 6. Robert Gallery/Kwame Harris- A pair of BUST "franchise" tackles. Gallery played well at guard, but can he do it again? Russell's going to be on his back a lot with Harris protecting his blindside. Maybe we'll get to see what Andrew Walter can do again? DARRELLE REVIS ISN'T A WHINY BITCH LIKE DEANGELO HALL. I'D TAKE HIM OVER HALL ANYDAY.
I' take the raiders options at every on of those positions over the jets, except perhaps WR. QB- all 3 guys suck, but Russell at least has the physical tools to be a stud, Chad doesn't have the arm to start anymore and Clemens has the same inexperience problems but with less athletic talent. RB- McFadden is a game changing back, and even if he fails they have Jordan, Fargas and Michael bush all very capable backs, Thomas Jones is solid, but not a game changer, and neither washington or chatman are someone you want starting WR- Walker is probably the best on either team, but Coles and cotchery are clearly 2,3 here. Curry is a decent #2, middle of the pack as #2s go, neither team has much at #3, with smith and carter both bad. OL- I'll compare D'brick and Moore to Kwame and Gallery, D'brick has shown me nothing to make me think he'll be better than below average, and while Kwame is bad in pass blocking as well both he and Gallery are beasts in the run game. Acually Oakland's whole team is, even without a threat at QB or WR last year they were the #6 rushing team. The jets addeda lot and their Oline should be very solid this year with the adition of faneca. As a note, the Jets actually gave up quite a few more sacks than OAK last year 53 compared to only 42 for the Raiders Brick was 4th worst in the league w/ 11.75 sacks allowed CB- Revis is good, but asomugah might be the best corner not named champ bailey in the league, and Hall is miles above Miller. I like Routt better than Miller at nickel maybe less explosive but more technically soundm especially in man. And Starks and branch are good depth. So while I think the jets are the better team your oick of positions to question was bizaare, and I like the raiders future down the line much better with all their young guys at important positions
