so here we are again. yankees/mets for the millionth time. The luster of this series disappeared about 7 years ago. So talk about two shitty baseball teams right here.

Don't be surprised if we see a no-hitter thrown this weekend.

It doesn't matter if neither team can score.

I actually originally wrote "perfect game" instead, but I figure, eventually, someone has to walk.

This series may be worth it just to see how poorly two teams can possibly play.

Three 19 inning marathons, all ending 1-0 on a wild pitch following a walk and two stolen bases.

I think I'll go see Iron Man this weekend...

sad.....but maybe this series can wake these teams up

anyhow, as a Met fan, i haven't really seen many Yankee games, but it appears to me they are just victims of big injuries (A-Rod & Posada), and sub par pitching........at least they seem to be playing sound baseball for the most part

the Mets have no such excuses and are simply playing bad bone headed and lazy baseball AND they can't hit

    One can hope...

Actually, quite the opposite. They've gotten great pitching (with the exception of Hughes, Kennedy, and Igawa, along with 2 bad starts from Pettitte). The pen has been awesome as well.

They just couldn't a ball off a tee. ARod and Posada being out definitely has hurt, but that's not the problem. Guys are playing poorly. Inexcusably poorly. Both on the field, and at the plate.

Sadly, both teams mirror each other, based on your description of the Mets.

ahaha dude it figures youd be the only one in this thread bashing the other team instead of worrying about your own.

well that's quite a few exceptions on the pitching

I know Wang has been real good, Mussina, pretty good, and Rasner has pulled his weight lately....but the rest have been pretty, well, sub par to real bad, Pettite included

but i suppose they do mirror each other......Santana, & Maine have been good, Perez has been erratic at best, and Pelfrey has done a reasonably good job in 75% of his starts

like i said, haven't paid all that much attention on a game by game basis......but I don't see the Yanks making the bone head plays, base rrunning mistakes, the manager costing them games, bullpen melt downs etc....but I guess you would know better than me......just seems they're not hitting, and that seems to be more due to A Rod and Posada not being there to protect the rest of the lineup

in others words....at least to me...the Yanks have a lot less to worry about. Once they get A Rod back their fortunes will change

It'd never last 19 innings. I suppose Santana and Maine could go 9 but probably won't get more then 6 or 7 out of Perez and once you're into the Mets bullpen the runs flow like water.

This series will suck so bad. And it's great that the fans don't care.

Haha, I thought when I wrote it that it looked pretty silly to say.

I don't know if ARod alone can fix what's wrong with this team. I'd like to believe that, but I just don't.

Fair, but honestly, the Yankees would need to figure out how to score first.

Funny how this thread went 17 posts before someone decided to ask. I know I looked at it crosseyed at first.

As for the weather, according to the Yankees' web site, the game is still scheduled for tonight, and they will make every effort to play tonight.
