Hey, I have an important question: Do I have to read through four pages of this thread before saying that I don't give a flying fahk whether Tom Brady respects the Jets or not?! He was more respectable before he was pretty.
that cock sucker better hope i never see him in manhattan. i break his fuckin' neck. GOD bless us all, each and every one of us:grin:
This whole thing is kind of funny to me. I mean, what else can he say? It's not like he can say "I love the Jets" and "I have no respect for the team that planted my ass all night long." I don't think he needed to make the Jets comment though.
That's a lie; Brady wasn't laughing at all. He sounded rather serious to me. BTW that whole 'interview' was such a waste of time.... Not that I expect much from any sports radio show, but the two guys might as well have been stroking Brady and the Pats while sweeping Spygate under the rug. It was pathetic how they want to play the victim. And this from a guy who really likes Brady, the player.
BTW, for those who want to hear the interview themselves, here's the link. http://media.weei.podzinger.com/archive/TheBigShow/2008-05-13_Tom_Brady_with_The_Big_Show.mp3 The respect comments are about 8:30 into the interview.
I have zero problem with Brady not respecting the Jets, but he didn't have to say anything. He could of thrown out the old 'I respect everybody' line. The sad thing for me is that I think it's really Beli-cheat who has fostered this anti-Jets attitude on the Patriots. The Jets just want to win football games and get better. Beli-cheat has always seemed intent on hurting the Jets....
Eric Mangini's reponse As anyone who has seen my posts to this message board knows, I am in no way a fan of Eric Mangini. Yet, his take on Brady's comments (aired on Channel 4 News, by Len Berman) made me his fan. Basically, Eric said that he thought Brady was a good guy. And his whole attitude towards this media messs has me turned around about Mangini... Yeah, yeah, yeah... You might think I hate Mangini and Tannenbaum, but on the other hand, a lot of my criticism has been based on their media appearances. I do place a lot of importance on this. To me, it communicates a lot of information to us fans. Basically, Mangini's response to Brady's comments (which I take as seriously as any professional wrestler's comments to their opponent) was so nice that I am changing my attitude towards the guy...
he used to kill us statistcally but we'd still beat him alot, we haven't been able to beat Brady. We were 7-1 against NE from the 2nd game of '97 through the 1st game of 2001 w/ the only loss being a 3 point loss in a game where our Punter played QB for most of the game. Brady took over the 2nd meeting of '01 and we have beaten NE twice since then.
Yeah I heard it too and it wasn't a joke, he sounded pretty serious and the guys I know one was Fred Smerlas was a comeplete waste of radio frequency, then again anything on WEEI is. As far as the comments it's not so much that I give a shit if the likes the Jets or not but that he says he has no respect for the Jets yet he respects a guy who got caught cheating has not once apologized for being in the wrong cheated on his wife has womanized has a win at all costs attitude even if it means breaking the rules Then again old Tommy is a deadbeat dad so why not respect a piece of shit like the chicken.... What pisses me off is the way the Pats are handling the coverup of spygate, it's the see we were right. No you weren't. You still cheated and got caught. Just because there is no SB walkthrough doesn't change shit.
The Pats have been taping since 2000. Hence they have been cheating since 2000. Brady has been QB of the Pats since 2001 and benefited from their cheating ways. No matter how much some fans and the media want to make Brady out to be the best that ever played the game, the truth is we will never know because every game he as ever started is tainted by their cheating ways.
