Which formerly awesome Major League pitcher can the blame loss of shoulder strength on years of smoking pot and one drug-addled incident where he had to carry a passed-out date up three flights of stairs? His fastball hasn't been the same since.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread, so since this also Daily News related:

Gary Cohen is taking the final season at Shea Stadium seriously. That's why SportsNet New York's voice of the Mets wants to broadcast a game from the upper deck, where he used to cheer on the team when he was a fan. So, on Thursday afternoon (Nationals-Mets) Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling, will call the game from upstairs, near the last row of the upper deck, surrounded by Mets fans. -- NY Daily News

This could be a great idea or a terrible idea. There's no grey area.

I think it will work out fine, and sounds like fun. I'm sorry that I'll miss it, since I spent many days up there in my younger days.

I was thinking Pedro. He seems stoned most of the time because I have no idea why he's so happy ALL of the time.
But would that midget he used to carry around qualify as a date?

If you could say he was once an awesome ML pitcher, I'd bet it's Zito.

Let's see them try that at a road game.

Heh, I doubt it, Pedro's strenght has been sapped because of too many injuries and way too many pitches that his small frame could handle.
