As I read some of the threads / post in the aftermath of Walsh turning over the eight tapes to the NFL .. I have read "Belicheat should be banned" "Integrity of the Game" "Superbowls tainted" .. Yada Yada Yada .. Please don't misunderstand what I am saying here... The Pats violated a league rule, and should be held accountable .. But for some on this board that are on this "INTEGRITY" high horse .... Need to look in the mirror .. You all support a cheater .. his name is Eric Mangini .. If you tell me that Mangini wasn't a part of this when he was in New England, your naive .. Would Mangini be the HC of NYJ without those *3 superbowl titles? I don't think so .. Your head guy was involved in this scheme folks .. Again.. Don't misunderstand the message, but no one has stepped up on this board and called out Mangini on this .. Thoughts??
And common and say it please.... "Bill Parcells must be apart of it too since Belli is his protoge.... so the Dolphins are screwed along with the Giants and Cowboys." Common you know you wanna.
I def agree.. He's the head coach, no problem with that .. He's paying the price , hefty one at that....
I think that they should punish everyone that they can PROVE was involved in the cheating, including Mangini. If it comes to a fine, then fine him. I'm not sure of the legality of it, though, because Weiss is out of the league and Mangini and Crennell are with different teams, along with other Pats personnel. And if the Jets are cheating in any fashion, I want them to receive the same treatment as the Pats. I expect the owners to rally around and say 'let's just get this behind us, it's over' and Goodell to say 'There is no proof that this affected the outcome of the game'. But I also think we both know that this isn't what would have happened. The Jets haven't won any Super Bowls recently and have always been treated like dogs of the NFL since their early days and their treatment would be much different than what the Pats have received since they became the darlings of the NFL.
Your misunderstanding my post.. Who knows if the Tuna did it .. All I am saying is that for all the "integrity of the game" buffs, and the "I'm glad we don't have someone like that on our team" buffs.. I am a little surprised with all the folks on here, no one has ever mentioned Mangini's part while in New England ..
There is one huge difference. Belichick was caught cheating and you are just assuming that Mangini was involved. Bring some proof to the table that Mangini was involved and then we can discuss it but until that time you are just comparing a proven cheat to someone that has no mark on his record in regards to cheating. It may be that he was involved but at this time we will just have to assume he was not.
I agree .. I have no proof whatsoever that your head guy was involved, but he was Bill's boy .. Top L.T .. the right hand man .. etc ..
Mangini just did his job and shut up, like any worker would do who has to pay for bills and keep the food on the table for the family and to not screw up his dream job as a NFL coach. I would do the same thing if I was in Eric's shoes. If I looked like a guy who couldent be trusted, I would be jobless or at the best circumstance wouldent be as close with the head coach, which helped lead to Eric getting a NFL head coaching gig.
Nah, he has a point. Anyone involved should be held accountable. And I do find it very hard to believe that Mangini and other OC/DC's for the Pats could not have known what was going on. It was Mangini himself who alerted the Jets to the issues with the filming. You think he just luckily figure it out? I think a lot of people knew. It won't get proven at this point because the NFL wants it under the rug, but it is naive to think only Belichick knew what was happening.
2000-2004 (Defensive Backs Coach) New England Patriots 2005 (Defensive Coordinator) New England Patriots In my opinion here, Mangini HAS to have knowledge that BB is taping signals. But who is he to come out and tell the Head Coach what and what not to do? Responsibility lies 100% on the Head Coach of the football team. As sad as it sounds, Romeo... Charlie and yea, Eric Mangini got some super looking resumes out of this ordeal but that is about it.
fftopic: Greed Dude, I can't stop laughing at your signature. :rofl2::rofl: What did that kid do that made him beg not to get banned?!
haha he posted an article of Gholston being injured in the Jets forum as a joke. Gholston was in fact injured but a Golston from the Redskins. It was comical seeing him beg not to be banned and i laughed my ass off when he typed what was in my signature. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=32501
Sadly I can't disagree with this train of thought. I am 100% whole-heartedly in the belief that Mangini knew all about this when he was a Patriot (at the very least, his year as DC) he didn't say anything because he benifited then, and sine he no longer benifits he decided to tip off the Jets Security staff and end the Pats cheating ways. Now that being said, I do NOT think for one second since Mangini has been the HC of the Jets that he has been illegally taping other teams and stealing their signals. Sometimes you just have to go along with your boss' decisions good or bad. But once you get promoted you don't have to implement those things your boss did that you disagreed with.
Oh dude... That thread was fucking BRUTAL!!! LMAO The entire thread was so great. Sometimes lil' bastards need to learn the hard way. I can't believe I missed it! Thanks for the link bro. I had a good laugh before leaving work.
If Mangini was caught or even suspected of cheating while the head coach of The New York Jets -- I would want him off the team and banned from the NFL. I feel sorry for NE fans that support that pathetic excuse for a human being, Bellicheat. His actions call your SB wins into question, and his actions have tarnished the image of your franchise. Why would you support him?
 I guess we've come a long way from the across-the-board responses from Pats fans 2 years ago that Mangini was nothing more than a toady that had nothing to do with the defense and BB was the micromanaging mastermind behind everything.
thats true Abyzmul, i remember the days of the Pats fans laughing at us for taking mangini, because they figured he would doom us to years of sucking because he was too young and inexperienced....
