Looks like the WWE is finally giving in and making Kennedy a face. I haven't seen anything like this since the rise of Stone Cold. No matter how much the company wanted him to be heel, the crowd just wants to cheer him. Kennedy's the next big thing.
I wasn't a Kennedy fan until recently. I couldn't stand the boxing microphone thing. Lately though, he's been good. Guys like Kennedy, Triple H, Stone Cold, and Undertaker are who are going to work as faces, regardless of what the WWE might want. People like the whole "tough guy loner" persona. People want to see those promos that end with the guys nose-to-nose, just staring each other down. They're more believable for the heavyweight level, like boxers. Regal and Kennedy should make some really great promos.
I'm glad.... I don't dislike 'Taker but A- that new move he's been using to win matches is ridiculously lame... and B- WWE doesn't seem like it ever wants to have 'Taker lose a match, and I didn't want to see a 6+ month title reign... Maybe now that MVP is no longer US Champ, he can go after the WWE title... Obviously Edge is an option... Batista too... Smackdown!'s talent pool isn't great, so it's hard to figure which direction they want to head... By the way.. Vicky Guerrerro is the most annoying POS ever on TV.....
You really don't like that submission Beamen? I think it's actually really cool and innovative. It's something you haven't seen in a long long time. The reason I like it most though is its one of those moves that allow you to counter into it from just about anywhere. For me it reminds me a lot of Kurt Angle with his ankle lock and how he can lock that in at any point in a match. Makes watching them much more exciting.
I just don't like it because of how over-done it is... I like the comparison to the ankle lock, but the difference is that the ankle lock is a legitimate move (f'n HURTS!), that can/has been broken out of, and actually will hurt a guy... 'Taker's move is pretty much him pulling someone by the head towards him, so they're choked by his shin.... It's one of those moves that LOOKS like it should be easy to break- one of the victim's arms is left entirely free, the other is just sitting between Taker's legs, and both of the victim's legs are free... That nobody ever breaks it makes no sense... I dunno... I mean, EVERYONE knows that wrestling is fake, but while I'm watching, I want to be able to believe, at least to an extent, in the action.. Acting like a move like that has so much power and is so devastating is just stupid to me... It seems like something 'Taker acquired simply so he NEVER has to lose.....
They had a pre-sale for the Great American Bash tickets this morning, managed to snag up 2 tickets similar to the ones I had for the Royal Rumble. There are still tickets available, 2 of the presale passwords you can use if interested are NVMC and WWELIPPV.
It's okay now, but it used to be great. They need to revamp their storylines and make HHH a damn heel again
The storylines could use some tweaking, but they need new young talent. Recycling guys like Regal and Bradshaw isn't going to cut it. Even Triple H and Jericho are starting to see the sunset in the distance. Undertaker, while obviously still a crowd favorite, has been around an awfully long time. I'm looking at guys like Kennedy and MVP to be the guys to revive things. Right now though, there's no guy I see that I can say is the next Hogan/Austin/Rock. As for Triple H, I think I read somewhere that he doesn't want to be a heel anymore. That he'd rather go it the way he's been doing it, where he's a face, but a tough guy/smart ass.
I found a pretty funny clip. As a kid I was at the match where Paul Orndorff turned on Hulk Hogan. I found a clip of it and while everyone is in shock as Orndorff beats up Hogan I am jumping up and down happy. I liked the bad guys as a kid. Click the link, I haven't watched the whole clip but about the 9 min mark you can see a goofy kid jumping up and down in the background. I'm in about the 3rd or 4th row. http://www.searchforvideo.com/playc...hoganpaul-orndorff-vs-big-john_sport?from=rss
I am a huge Kennedy guy and have been since he came in as a heel. I love the gimmick and felt he would be great with one of the minor titles (USA or I-C). I've always wanted to see a MattHardy vs. KenKennedy feud because neither of them have huge gimmicks and it could be sold as just good wrestling. Cena I think gets unfairly dumped on by a lot of fans. I mean, Hulk Hogan is arguably the most popular wrestler ever and he knew about three moves, a leg drop, a right hand punch, and a flying leg drop. JBL is another guy whose gimmick I've loved, and think he's a great heel. Triple H just doesn't have the same drawing power as he did in years past. He's still a great fighter, but I question WWE's creativity in keeping him on this WWE title for so long. I would love to see some fresh blood up there, and I think the WWE will benefit immensely from their next draft if they actually shake up the talent. Big Show is a guy I would absolutely love to see in the WWE or WHC title hunt. Umaga is another guy I feel has been vastly underused. From a wrestling standpoint, he may be one of the best on the roster. He's as strong as anyone, probably needs a new finisher, but deserves more than he's got lately. Orton tends to have very boring matches because of the number of holds he uses. Still, he is a talented wrestler and I enjoyed his run at the top. I'd like to see him in a real good feud with someone new, though. That could be a chance for Michaels to go in a new angle. Jericho has been a solid mid-card guy since his return, but he doesn't have the ability to headline a show anymore. I don't know what WWE wants to do with him but I'm not loving his I-C run. Punk is a guy I've never liked, and I question WWE giving him the Money in the Bank briefcase. I know they want to go in a different direction than just having a guy who's a heel and an opportunist with it, and I know Punk is way over, but I don't enjoy his matches. He's nowhere near good enough to hold the WWE or WHC titles so I'd assume he'd go after ECW, which nobody watches anyway, so why bother wasting the briefcase there. I'll be going to my first PPV at Great American Bash in July at NVMC. Anyone else going?
You'll either find this funny or incedibly stupid. It's a Jim Ross rap and is probably NSFW.
