Hell of a throw on that caught-stealing play.

Maybe it's allergies. I never have bad allergies, but for some reason I've been sneezing and itching my eyes all day like a mad man.

What stings is that it was a Pinch-Hit homer...Sucks.

Yeah. That's why I adore him so much. Defensively, he's far superior to Posada, and I caught for years, so I appreciate a defensive-minded catcher. His hitting is adequate for this lineup, so all around, I prefer him behind the plate for the Yankees.

Today was a tree-allergen alert day. I don't think was it though. I also don't think he was crying. He was definitely upset though.

Yeah. But he got himself into that situation by trying to be cute earlier in the inning. He should have just used his slider/fastball, and got through the inning.

Honestly, it seemed to me he was auditioning.

Funny, because I thought it was the overuse of the slider, not the curve, that caused most of his problems. If anything, he should've been throwing more fastballs.

Fair enough. I still thought he looked like he was auditioning for the last rotation spot and was trying to be too cute.

This was good though. Better for him to finally get this out of his system. Now he has to pitch tonight, and bounce back.

Didn't he carry the no-no into the 7th? Hopefully this trip sets him back on track.

He's obviously ready, bring him back up:grin:

That's a good sign, hopefully he continues to regain his confidence and can come back up and have success. I still think both Ian and Hughes will have a positive impact on this season before it's done.

And then again he may be another of the dozens before him who can't stand the pressure of playing in NY.

Because NY is so much harder to play in than some place where there is nothing else to do but follow a baseball team.

he pitched great in his 3 starts last season. he probably just wasnt ready to face mlb batters before building his confidence and getting a feel for his pitches.

Besides him not being as good a hitter as he's been billed as?

Because it's an incredible pitching performance?

I've said it before, but I really don't see how furrowed brows and/or thrown water cooler equates to improved performance.

Boy, Seattle sure is playing the Yanks tough this series.

theres a difference between being heralded as a prospect who hasnt played in the bigs and being billed as a good young player performing at a high level in the major leagues. nobody billed him as anything other than how he performed. i find no reason to beleive anything other than that he is slumping and at some point he will break out of it.
