The Yankees have no comment, but Mars Corporation is not denying that they have offered Philip Hughes a 2 million dollar contract to be the spokesman for "Philip Brittle Peanut Butter".

JoeJet, like davecrazy, is one of those guys that realizes his fellow Mets fans dislike him greatly, so now he just tries to get under everyone's skin by being universally annoying.

He just got checked by an eye doctor. He's nearsighted.

I had the same problem before I got my glasses. Blurriness and glare... at night, especially.

That explains some of it, at least. Hopefully all of it, actually.

Nice outing by Wang so far. Thank god he's not injured. That's all the Yanks needed.

My heart sank when Molina called the dugout out.

Wang was already an ace, but he's becoming flat-out dominant. He may not always look it, but you can't argue with the results. Who needs pretty?

Wang is the only solid pitcher on this staff and I hope he wins the Cy Young this year. Pettitte is good more times than not. The rest are garbage.

Hughes just got checked? Since when don't they give their players physicals? Or is this another Cashman gem?

So, I read Posada will be out 5 weeks. This year at least we won't miss him. Milona is a better defensive catcher and isn't hitting any worse that Posada was. Just need Molina to stay healthy,

Ever since Farnsworth finally got cheered in NY he has been the pitcher they always thought he could be.

He was checked in the past, and said his eyesight was fine. Eyesight can deteriorate quickly. Mine went downhill in the course of a month... when I was 21, no less. *shrugs*

Hard to fake an eye test. You can either read the chart or you can't. Other issues can be seen with the scope. I would think eye tests for batters and pitchers would be one of the most important parts of any physical although I would think ut would have a much bigger impact on a hitter.

Yeah, my eyesight deteriorated rather quickly, though I was pretty young at the time. It's reasonable. Hopefully that's the only issue. If glasses are all he needs, good.

I kept saying I thought Farnsworth could be good. It's been ever since he threw at Manny. The team finally accepted him, and he's been strong since.

As for Wang, I can't see him winning the Cy Young unless he's the only 20 game winner in the league. His stats will get beat by guys like Beckett, so he won't get the recognition. I don't care though. As long as he keeps getting these results, that's all that matters.

BTW, Don, Moose has been very good since pitching to Manny. I'm no Moose fan, but I have to give credit where due. He's been really good.

Beckett won't beat him this year unless he changes it around a lot. He's 2-2 with a 4.10 era vs. wang's 6-0 after tonight with a 3.0 era.

Damn it. I said "guys like" Beckett, not Beckett in particular!

Seriously though, guys who compound the stats will beat out Wang every time. It's unfortunate, but unless he can separate himself significantly with his # of wins, he won't win the Cy Young.

Who else is like Beckett now that Santana isin the NL? Not Sabathia, not Bedard. I Can't think of one. Saunders and Santana for LA are going good but they are on the same team. It's a long year and things can change but everybody else has a lot of catching up to do.

Yeah, and the Cy Young voters have a real hard-on for wins.

    Darn those wins.

Keeps people from focusing on the DRIPS, EWOKS and SKWIDs.
