Because Mario is by far the best DE in the draft where D'Brick is the best OT there are others who aren't far behind that we can get in the mid rounds

Mario Williams is the type of defensive talent that doesn't come around every year. The same can't be said about D'Brickashaw Ferguson. If you have the opportunity to take Mario Williams, then you have to take him.

The same can certainly be said about D'Brick with a Franchise Left Tackle extremely important in keeping your Quarterback from getting killed. Something I wish we concentrated on in previous drafts. Maybe Khaliff Barnes in the second last year. Anyway, if you think this guy has the potential to be the next Walter Jones and he's there at 4 how do you not take him.

I understand Mario Williams is a rare athelete just like D'Brick but I have read that he lacks motivation sometimes and doesn't always go full tilt. Still he's an extremely great athlete and gets to the quarterback but with concentrating on the Defense for the last couple of drafts I think its time to get the best Offensive lineman avaliable and that would be D'Brick.

Agreed, we have to take Mario if he's there.

I don't want D'Brick at all because even though it'd be nice to have a great LT, we'd still have no RT because Jones isn't very good there. Jones is above average at LT, we need to address RT and C in the 2nd and third rounds.

Thats a tough one Hawk or Williams then at #29 and #35 get oline and WR or TE would be good, D'brick then #29 and #35 get a LB or DE and a WR or TE

We can get a lot of solid RTs in round 2...McNeil, Winston, O'Callaghan, Scott, at least one of those guys will be there at #35. That'd be a better fit than D'Brick at #4.

Will those players be guarenteed starters? With what we have yes. But are they good starters or elite? I hope we choose the right guys the last regime was good on Lineman remember they never started year 1(Mc Kenzie..) And No I am not a Dbrick fan, I am a BPA fan, but we can have one supieror hole somewhere cause(I hope you are one of them we arent making the playoffs in 06) Lets hope they do the best for the future and fill their needs for the future.

I dont care if Cavka is starting(just using a name its one horrible starter). But if they fill positions irregardless of need for 2008, the team will get better. remember alot of the players we have wont be here in 2008. I rather have 2 losing seasons with this new regime to rebuild to BUILD up the future. Wooopdie dooo Brick is their favorite player by a zillion at 4 but we will draft so and so because we can get better later....thats not how teams draft. I am just saying dont go by postion, go by player. Is brick that player? I am not in the office but I am sure they will want their #1 Everyone does that, they dont go by need(unless they are idiots)

Like it has been said before, the Saints will likely determine whom the JETS pick in the upcoming draft. Either way if the decision comes down to Mario Williams or D'Brickashaw Ferguson, I would pick Mario Williams hands down. This guy has proven that he will be a star in the NFL. Ferguson on the otherhand, has the personality but he has a lot of flaws in his game that need improving especially run-blocking.

If it came down to D'Brick 6'6 305 vs Super Mario 6'7 295(285 is his playing weight) in the trenches, WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WIN? Super Mario, of course. Ferguson is an okay pass-blocker but he has not gone up against elite pass-rushers in his four-year career in game time situations except for Darryl Tapp. On more thing to bring into account is that D'Brickashaw Ferguson's quarterback he is supposed to protect as a bodyguard such as Marques Hagans at Virginia was mobile. The JETS do not have a mobile starting QB.

There are many questions and scenerios that can come into effect with the Draft on April 29 and most importantly the JETS selection. Regardless, if Mario Williams whom the JETS have a private workout on April 11 with or Vince Young whom they have private workout on April 18 with are still on the board, that's when the decision to pick will be very hard. D'Brick who? Marcus McNeil is the most complete and best LT in the draft, BELIEVE IT.

Jones is an above average LT? I am not sure I was watching the same games as you last year. Average, middle of the pack. Above average is overstating it, alot.

I know. I rather have D'Brick who has proved himself all through college. Not knocking Mario at all, hes really good. Its amazing how all the Mario Williams rumblings pop up after his combine numbers. Didnt hear anything about wanting him during the season, after the season, during the senior bowl(i know hes a junior and wasnt there, just using it as a time reference). Just popped up after the combine. People hop on bandwagons real quick. Guess everyone is off the Cutler/Deangelo Williams/D'Brick bandwagon and cramming onto the Mario bandwagon.

I don't see the franchise in Brick. To me a franchise guy can do it all. While he did a great job of stopping the pass rushers in the senior bowl - his run blocking left a lot to be desired.

If our CS thinks he can do it - I would support them. At this point though I would shy away from a guy at #4 who in effect would be one-dimensional.

With those long ass arms...35 is alot...it's harder to bench with longer arms as opposed to a short and stubby DT who has probably less than a foot to bring that 225 up
