i was watching the special draft day coverage on sportcenter around 7 today and they were talkin about the top 6 picks... todd mcshay kept ranting about how bad vernon gholston is and he is really overrated then out of no where.... Mel Kiper finally did it....he actually stood up for us and made todd look like an idiot...he was like Vernon is perfect for the 3-4 countering what Todd said.. todd thinks vernon doesnt fit our defense...how fuckin' dumb is this guy and the mel was like do you like chris long....well vernon had better stats then him two years in a row... bitch what... so the point of this thread is....mel kiper might actually be human... i always considered him in the same group with unicorns, tinkerbells, midgets, and cardboard boxes but he actually impressed me. kids, dont do drugs:up:
I saw McShay on an ESPN draft special last week saying "Mike Mamula...um, I mean, Vernon Gholston..." I hope he's wrong, of course.

McShay is kind of an idiot Kiper has been around for a long time and Kiper has only looked at the draft McShay runs that whole scouts inc shit, which is garbage because they don't justify why Gholston disappears, is it because he is double teamed is it because there is no supporting pass rush, its really unclear

Again, how can a player who had 14 sacks and 18 tackles for a loss for a top 5 team be mentioned in the same breath as Mike Mamula???? I happen to think skinny legged, fumbling running backs who had huge holes to run through in college have a much bigger bust potential than a pass rusher.

Kiper's been defending Gholston against McShay since way before the draft. It's only since we've picked him that he's now defending US. Lol. Kiper always had Gholston high on his board, McShay dropped him way down because he is a pinhead who gets paid to talk out of his ass.
By the way. Mamula played DE in a 4-3 defense at 250 pounds. He was as out of place in that defense as Vilma was in the Jets 3-4. Even so, Mamula had 31 sacks in 70 some odd games, which averages out to about 8 a year. He also tore his knee pretty early in his career. In today's NFL, playing LB in a 3-4, Mamula may have been a very productive pro. Also, Philly traded up to the 7th pick to get Mamula and their original pick, the 12th, was used by Tampa to take Sapp. Just who should the Jets have drafted instead of Gholston at 6???????
Some of you are such jokes just because a guys dogs the Jets he a idiot and if he says how good the Jets are he great. People are allowed to there opinion and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Mel wrong about a lot of players. Plus there a lot of people saying Vernon going to be a bust.
