    POST OF THE YEAR!

Well not really. But the points you brought up should be read by every Jets fan going into the season.

Jets are at least a 10 win team with Kellen at QB this year. Mark my words.

Can i just ask what it is you saw from him in 07 to make you think that?

And there are just as many who claim he is the future without knowing what he is capable of. My stance is to let him battle Chad for the job in training camp, lets get the best QB out there.

All of the points made on the original post, along with the much improved offensive line and Defense overall. And if you take a look at our schedule run down the games you think we will win and I get 10.

What is he capable of? People can only base his capabilities on his results.

Dude you've gotta stop posting, everytime I see you're avatar I've gotta run to the bathroom and beat off. Anyway, the initial post was definitely a good post. The thing that worries me, is I believe that quarterbacks have to be brought into the right situation so their heads don't get screwed up. I think that KC got his confidence rattled last year, because of the offensive line play. He also never stepped up into the pocket to buy time when the pocket was collapsing. When the pocket collapsed, he would put his head down and look to run. Instead of stepping up into the pocket and waiting for a receiver to get open. The O line is much improved, and I hope he is alot more calm behind center this year.

While Kellen has youth and a live arm to boot he also is still a little raw and now thanks to the bashing from last year will most likely have happy feet.(this is not my hope) Pennington knows how to win a TC battle because Vinny T. taught him how. Pennington will win the battle unless, somehow, he has a TC accident.

It's what we saw of Chad in 07 that makes us think Kellen is the man. Chad and his 17 T/D 16 INT's in 2006 did nothing to show he should have been named the starter in 2007 either. We got to the playoffs with the easiest schedule in the league! We saw how that story ended and the truth came out in 2007! GO CLEMENS!

    Exactly

QB record doesn't mean jack squat. Vince Young won a ton of games for the Titans but was an abysmal QB. Then again, for most here QB record is the end all of QB performance.

I really wanted Brohm bad in the draft but I think Ainge can be a starter in this league as well. I think Ainge will be a starter in this league before Clemens. Ainge is much more physically built for the position. Unlike Clemens, Ainge is tall enough to see over the line and played in something that actually resembles a pro offense in college.

Here comes FOURTHANDLONG with his cheerleading.

Labeling Clemens a failure at this point is nuts but that is different than not having a clue about what he is capable of because that is the real issue. Are you willing to give the keys of the car to Clemens just because Chad drives like Grandma and takes for every to get the team down the field and usually bangs up the car before reaching the end zone?

well if the truth came out that quickly with a qb that has led the the team to the playoffs every year he has been healthy but last...then Clemens fuckin sucks and you better hope they sign a vet. Clemens was worth shit last year. He showed nothing. I'm not saying it's a fair evaluation but it's just as fair as whats being said about Chad.

If grandma is too old and senile to drive, then yes, I'd rather give the keys to the grandson that has just gotten his license. He may be inexperienced and unknown as a driver, but at least he has his faculties and nowhere to go but up.

Any good scientist knows that you can't base a reasonably concrete conclusion on limited trials. Nor do half a season, without his top wideout, and a swiss cheese line qualify as adequate experimental static variables.

All I'm saying is give the kid a chance before throwing him under the bus. I don't doubt that Chad can be better coming out of the gate, but we've already seen his ceiling in enough trials to see that it isn't high enough to win a Super Bowl.

I don't think that's too fair. How soon we forget 04 and who was responcible for the end. Doug Brian. Truth is,Kellen Clemens could only hope to have the success Chad has had here with the Jets.

Actually, you have that backwards. The people who rate him a failure do so because he failed miserably when given the opportunity to succeed. The fools on this site are those that think he is terrific when he has done absolutely nothing to prove that.

Yup - if we had a QB who didn't suck that game it never would have come down to a FG attempt. Thank god for our outstanding defense and special teams that year.

I think Chad is a better Qb and the rebolstered O line will show that. Penny is smart with his passes and although he is 'handicapped' per say, he makes good decisions and manages the game like a poor man's Peyton Manning... if people judged game managers like that.
