He is the 3rd WR unless someone outperforms him in camp.
We knew Smith would not be good till his 3rd or 4th year because the guy didn't play WR in college. I think he can still become a good WR.

Hmmm - he is going to have big time competition for the 3rd WR spot. Should be interesting.

I'm still willing to give him a shot as our #3 WR, but if he starts dropping passes left and right again I will be pissed.

Hopefully he fits in well with the rest of the free agency pool.

Brad Smith is still, unfortunately, our third wide out, until dethroned. Stuckey has shown us nothing, although im a big believer that he has a lot of potential and will be a player one day. and you can't just throw in some fifth round draft pick ahead of him. and it was pretty obvious he was never gonna be a QB for us. There is certainly still a spot on the team for him.

I thought Stuckey was the most exciting player on the field last preseason during the games he played. He showed me that I definetly want to see more of him.

brad smith is a great gunner along with wallace wright...if someone else steps up and shows they can play special teams as well or better than him...then smith or wright could be in trouble
but he is still transitioning to the wr position...and it didnt help that the FO wanted to try him again at qb during last offseason
with a better o-line it will benefit our passing game and the time the wrs have to get open...not to mention the element of surprise...when you are losing, everyone is expecting pass
given the lack of wr depth...he is still looking like our 3rd or 4th wr right now
not a good thing for the jets, but a good thing for brad smith

Maybe now that they drafted another young QB they can stop the nonsense of putting a red jersey on Smith and let him learn the wideout position.

I believe he'll have a big year this year, still our 3rd WR IMO.

Brad Smith is able to catch the football better than jonnyd is able to pay attention to the games.

Its time to make the decision final about QB or WR. At this point he isn't good enough at either postion to not focus on only one. No more duel role - its not paying off.

I think Smith is our 3rd WR until dethroned. And Oh by the way I believe if he is healthy, Stuckey will dethrone him. Stuckey nearly had the #3 job last year before he got hurt. As I said in another thread my bold prediction for 2008, is that if Chansi Stuckey can stay healthy, he will not only be our #3 reciever, but one of the best in the bussiness.

Wow someone with patience and common sense posting... you must be on the wrong site.

I completely agree... give him at minimum this year to prove himself. If he doesn't do well again then I might question his ability to play in the NFL... not right now though.

Highly doubtful. I think this is the year Smith focuses strongly on WR. Ainge will be 3rd on the depth chart. Stuckey vs. Smith will be fun to watch in training camp.
