http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=145#s=145&f=3154&t=2399445 We've all been asking for a jets player capable of dominating a game. Bryant Thomas? NO Shaun Ellis? Only with Abraham on the other side. We havent had a pass rusher with this much potential since john abraham came of the edge and had one of his infamous strip sacks such as the licking he so famously laid on fiedler a couple years back. Gone are the days of the bland new york jets. Hard working guys with limited talent and natural abilities. Next Season? Jenkins the mammoth of a man we've been looking for. Faneca and Woody.. The beef on our o-line we've so desperately wanted. Dustin Kelller? The pure speed and athleticism we've been lacking on offense. Question remain, trust me, i know. Our qb situation can cripple what is otherwise a solid team. We dont have depth in the secondary. D-Brick has to fill his potential in what is now year 3. But one thing is for sure. Come next season, we, as fans, will have a hard time deciding who to keep our eyes on. Jenkins, Pace, Harris, Revis, Rhodes, Gholston, Justin Milller too! We are an excitign team again ,and win or lose, that is something i can really look forward too. Now anyone kno where we can buy chad a new arm or clemens some pocket presenc?
I'm extremely excited about our team too, specifically our defense. I see a lot of pressure coming from Pace, Gholston, and even Thomas. Revis and Rhodes are probably drooling at the amount of picks they're going to get. I'm definitely drafting the Jets' D in fantasy next year, will be fun to root extra hard for them. Lets just hope our offense can pull it together.
Haha, I love the title. I am so sick of all the doubters man! Everything said about Gholston is negative. People make it seem like Gholston came out of no where this year and snuck into the top ten due to his combine numbers. This kid was recognized all year and pretty high in all the mocks before the combine. Big numbers. Yeah he does slack off a little, but lets be real here, he is still learning the game. He's new to the sport. Kids going to be a monster.
Ya if he wroks out our pass rush will change dramatically. Our whole defense will change dramatically.
There is no doubt he has more upside potential than any other player in the draft but that negativity wasn't just dreamed up by a lot of GMs and scouts trying to drop his value. He brought it on himself by becoming invisible not just on plays but during entire games. If he plays up to his capabilities he will be fantastic.
Yeah, people talk about Ghoulston taking plays off, well, John Abraham took off PLAYOFF games. Big difference...
Maybe that's why he was traded and like I said it's entire games. How can you have 4 sacks against Michigan and then have only two tackles against Kent Freakin' State? You can look at exactly what he did game by game here. Both sacks and tackles. He's not much of a tackler. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/fls/17300/stats/football/2007/indgbg.htm
Beast? Didn't you guys see the LSU game? He spends about 99.9% of the time standing still, and if the QB happens to step in front of him and trip it's called a sack. The guy fooled our dumbass, youngass FO into thinkubg he was good because he has muscles and this years QB's class was notoriously clumsy. He's BT V2.0 but WORSER.
It certainly worries me when he can have 3 sacks agains Michigan and 4 against Wisconsin and then have a combined total against Youngstown State, Washington, Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State and Illinois of 0 That tells me there's a problem and points to somebody who takes games off. It's not like those were powerhouse schools. Those he played well against.
So getting 7 of his 14 sacks against two of the best teams he faced became a knock...when? And since when was sacks the only measuring tool of a pass rusher? What about hurries? Hits? Pressures? TFL?
Wait, he shows up big in the big games? Damn the wrong team drafted him. He should be on the Pats for sure. Its a damn shame really.
