WR depth is not nearly as important as OL depth. Especially considering the Keller pick, and the fact that we now have 6 TEs on the roster, and Leon Washington, who is an excellent option out of the backfield.
For those bitching about the lack of OL drafting...the following are good OL prospects still available: Kerry Brown Kirk Barton James Blair Pedro Sosa Adam Kraus Drew Radovich Geoff Schwartz Fernando Velasco Robert Felton I could keep going... There will be a TON of talented young OL guys available to us...and we still have our7th round pick. FUCK the Browns just took Rubin.
Do you remember how anemic our offense was at the end last year? Even know we have only 2 guaranteed options at WR, Kellers numbers will be canceled out by the likely departure of Baker and Leon Washington isn't used enough to be considered a staple of our passing attack
Actually, yes. I feel alot better. We now have 3 decent developmental OL guys w/ good potential. Garner, Bender and Montgomery.
How about Turner? I like him better than Montgomery. I can't find much on Garner. Any quick scouting reports?
I believe we still have the rights to Matt McChesney also. He was on some kind of double secret probation European league witness protection list last year. They converted him from DL to OL and sent him to Europe where he made the "All League" team as a Guard (before the league folded of course). I had a glimmer of hope for him when he was named all league. Okay, so now that I think about it, maybe this post wasn't worth writing...
