Who do you guys feel will most likely start the new season or see a decent amount of playing time out of the picks we just got?
Keller. He played in a pro offense at school and should be able to step in pretty early, and should make an immediate impact with his athleticism. I think Gholston has some work to do but I expect him to have somewhat of an impact too.
without a doubt keller. i really think he's gonna be in rookie of the year talks. he's that good and versatile! i wish people were more psyched about him on this board.
Gholston will be in on every passing down from the first game on. The Jets desperately need a pass rush.
Keller and then Gholston. Gholston is a guy I want to see in training camp. I'll definitely be taking that ride this year. Keller is just going to be huge for us. Theres just so much we can do with a guy like him. TE...slot receiver...line him up wide at WR... And this is only the player he is now...he's still going to be taught how to block...giving him even more versatility. Keller's gonna be sick...
I doubt Gholston will start from day one. I still think Thomas will beat him out, but Gholston will come on toward the end of the year will more experience. Keller will have the most opportunity to play so I think he will have the most impact.
I think Gholston will play from day one. Maybe not start but he'll be one the field for at least 1/4 of the games from the get-go and I would be surprised if he wasn't starting by mid-season. Keller will obviously not be on the field every offensive down but he's going to see a lot of time. The corner we got is the dark house to see significant playing time. It can't be that hard to beat out the current crop of mediocre players we have starting opposite Revis.
Gholston will probably be developed alot like Suggs was... He'll be used as a pass rusher early....will probably/hopefully do very well. Then he'll slowly be asked to drop back into coverage. At first it'll probably be the flats like Thomas was this season, but eventually it'll be TE's and slot WRs. I think Gholston has the upside of a bigger, faster Suggs. Suggs had many of the same knocks coming in without the pluses of being a real freak athletically.
I think it is Keller as well, but don't sleep on this Lowery kid, he has some of the best Ballhawking skills in the draft. So it is not unbelievable that he could be our starter opposite Revis mid season, or if he transitions to Safety like i expect, he could be a star there...
This is the thing I hate most about the offseason. TC drives me up a wall. I live between 9 and 10 hours from Hofstra, and even further from the new facillity, so needless to say, I have never been. I really wish I could go because it helps keep me sane while waiting for the season to start, and I really like to get a good look at the new rookies coming in. Especially this coming year, we have a TE with Blistering speed, our expected savior in terms of pass rush, Lowery who looks like a big-time gamer. Stuckey is a guy I want to watch as well. then we have Marcus Henry who appears to have a shot to be a huge possesion reciever for us down around the goal line.
I think gholston will hit the ground running..he and Pace should be rediculous together. I think Keller will be a huge asset, I can't wait to see how we use him. I love Gholston though he is nothing but upside and he is going to bury Brady this year. I can't wait!!
No, wait until he catches a game winning TD in the regular season. He didn't catch it like a work of art, so it's really like 5 points, not 6. We win by a point, but not really. See, it's kind of like a tie, but more like a loss, even though it's in the W column. And so on.
I think at the very least, Gholston will be starting from day 1. We haven't had a first round pick not start from day 1 since the new FO/CS has been running things.
