Almost cried when Ryan went to the Falcons. Had to explain Gholsten to my mom. Jets draft a 1st round TE (he looks sickly good). Just another day as a Jets fan.

With that said, they must feel they are set with Clemens. Maybe they saw something I didn't?

Still hoping our remaining 4th round pick is Mr. Booty.

I guess they will give the kid another shot. Perhaps there is a 2nd day kid they have their eye on, the 3rd QB slot is still open, i can see a QB going #103.

    ...Duh...!

    You think...?

When you look at all the guys drafted in the first and second rounds, you are left with the inescapable realization that the NYJ CS and FO are pretty happy about a lot of the players on their roster.

Don't feel so powerless. After all, one should realize the difference between fans and coaches and general managers.

They are not all equal, you know.

They were never going to pick Ryan. That's like publicly admitting you have no clue what you're doing.

Most people think Chad will be the starter. Kellen may be taking a seat in 2008.

If Chad is the starter, we make the playoffs, and go out in the first round.

I don't think Chad will be the starter, if he was going to be then they would have picked a QB because Chad definitely isn't the future of this franchise.

The FO tried to trade up for Flacco. This is what inspired the Ravens to move up and take him earlier. This tells me their not sold on either QB. I heard this on NFLN.

If Clemens was in this draft he would have been the second QB taken. Flacco went 2nd this year!

They said after the draft that the reason the Ravens jumped back up in the 1st was because we had made phone calls trying to move up for Flacco ourselves

if that's so, then they also passed on both brohm and henne.

maybe either johnson from sd or another project will be addressed with the 4th, 5th or 7th round pick.

I'm not sure about liking KC, the NFL Network reported that the Ravens herd we wanted to make a move for Flaco, and so they jumped up to snatch him.

If this is true than I do not think the FO has as much faith in KC as the draft may seem to say. That an the fact that Mangini has not named a starter leads me to believe CP will get the nod.

If anything, the draft rumors of the Jets going after Flacco show that they have little faith in Clemens

I'd love to pick up Johnson. He'll take time to adjust from DIII ball, but he also was working with a former NFL QB for 3 years in Jim Harbaugh before Harbaugh left for Stanford.

What's funny is that after the Keller pick, Mayock said "He'll be a great weapon for Chad Pennington". Perhaps he thinks Kellen to Keller will get too confusing.

Actually it doesn't. Let's think ahead a year. Chad is gone. Which leaves Ratliff and Tui as the prospective backups. Drafting a QB makes sense even from a backup role for the Jets. And maybe, that player turns out to be better than Clemens.

Drafting a QB, does not say anything about Clemens. It says that we have no confidence in our current backups, and we need to prepare for the following season since we have no depth at QB whatsoever.
