i think that is a very good way of putting it. I dont see where people are coming from when they say "just trust the FO to do the right thing". I dont see why they earn a free pass when they havent accomplished much of anything lately.
It's easy to count the days since the last championship. It's hard to find a way to counter the "tradition". I think you have to judge the current management / coaching regime on what they do, not on what was done before. So far, these guys took what they were given and went 10-6 against a weak schedule. True to form, the NFL figured out what they were doing during this 10-6 year and kicked them successfully in the face last year -- exposed for the talentless group that they were, the NYJ went 4-12. Now, their tricks and low-talent roster fully exposed, the NYJs have to pick up the pieces and progress -- in the full light of NFL scrutiny. That's the situation we're in. That's the situation I look to as the context for all the off-season moves so far and moving on. This is an exciting time. Measuring for success or failure should be done during the games, not during the preparation. Shame on you guys.
