I think the Rams have decided that Long is considered to be the 2nd most attractive player in the draft and they are trying to get somebody to trade up for the pick.

They really want to move Carriker back out side and that means Dorsey or Ellis are likely atop their draft boards. They just don't want to take either of them on the 2.

I'm betting they aimed the rumor at the Jets and the Patriots and they're trying to get one of them to move up for Long.

Looks like the first five pick barring a trade will look like this:

    1. Jake Long
    2. Chris Long
    3. Dorsey
    4. McFadden
    5. Gholsten

Worst case scenario for the Jets. We can only hope that we can get a team to move up for Ryan or Ellis.

There's no reason for the Rams to have released Chris Long's name even via the rumor mill unless they want other team's reactions to the pick. If they'd signed him that would be one thing, but for his name just to start floating out there on Friday night and reinforced on Saturday morning again has to be a play by them to get other team's attentions.

I bet we can trade down in Ryan is still there at six. But I think it could play out more like this:

    1. J Long
    2. C. Long
    3. Ryan
    4. McFadden
    5. Dorsey
    6. We go either Gholston or try to trade down...

A little scary, with Long off the boards, Davis is more likely to take McFadden.

Gholston may remain as the bpa.

Please let Gholston be gone before 6.

Gholston is probably the most likely player to slip to the Jets, joining Matt Ryan as potentially available. Especially if the Chiefs take Sedrick Ellis or Ryan Clady on the 5.

I still think there is a very good chance the Chiefs will take Gholston though. Herm's cover-2 needs a strong pass rush or it is DOA and Jared Allen just left town.

If the Rams rumors are true, and I hope they aren't, I think it goes like this:

    1. J Long
    2. C Long
    3. Dorsey
    4. McFadden
    5. Ellis in trade with Saints
    6. Ryan or hopefully trade down to a team that really wants him over taking Gholston

I think the Chiefs will take an OT. They probably really like one of the top ones and fear that they won't be able to take him with the 17th pick. I can see them trading down to the Saints spot, with NO taking Ellis, and the Chiefs taking Clady at 10. Then hope that Harvey is available at 17.

I think the draft should go like this... Even though it is apparent the Rams are taking C.Long..
    1. J. Long
    2. Dorsey
    3. Ryan
    4. Long
    5. Ellis [Chiefs love him, so if they don't trade down, they take him]
    6. DMC

I think I'd prefer Gholston, but I can't hate DMC.

I really hope that Dorsey gets past Atlanta cause I think that either the Raiders would really consider taking him or trading the pick to Cinci/NO. But knowing the Raiders and Crazy Al they are gonna end up taking Dmac

I don't want him on the Jets because I don't think he's going to be a good NFL player.

I think the draft is all about the Falcons. They take Ryan and we'll get Mcfadden. I really don't believe that the raiders with a top rush offense and a bottom 5 run defense is going to take DMC. I think they want Gholston as the freak pick and Long as the stable pick.

If we get Gholston, I hope and pray for the best but he scares the hell out of me as a potential work out wonder and a guy who likes to take plays off.
