I don;t care if you are a Darren McFadden fan, Vernon Gholtson fan, Chris Long fan, or Matt Ryan fan...

You back your team up no matter WHO they select with their piuck!

The Jrts have dramatically improved the team, but we still habve many question marks and holes.

ANay one these players would fill a hole and I honeslty think we should be happy with whomever they decide to take...

    I love you all...Go Jets

    Merry cHRistmas!

I agre with backing them up because the past 2 drafts they have made a lot of great decisions.

First time in a while I don't have much of a preference with the first round pick. Although adding a weapon like McFadden sure is appealing.

Agreed. I would happy with any of the guys rumored to be our favorites... The FO has, or at least, should have the respect of the fans. They know how to draft, and I truly feel safe with whatever they decide....

    It's eerie..

I trust Tangini, although trading up for anybody would be a toough pill to swallow. My biggest fear isn't how these guys will handle themselves, they've proven they can get it done, my fear is only one of the top guys is there at five and NE jumps s and takes him before we even have a chance. It's going to be a dicey first hour!

I can't believe there WON'T be trades in the top 6. This is the first draft in a long time that there are so few real high quality players in round one. There are rumors that St Louis, Atlanta and Oakland may all be willing to trade down. Also rumors that there are a ton of teams willing to trade into the top 5 which would be the first time that has happened in years.

You're right. We've had 2 years in a row where the Jets haven't made any major screw-ups in the draft (I consider the Schlegel pick a minor screw-up).

The more I read these last minute mocks, the more I think the guys we really want with pick#1 will be gone. Let's hope that we can trade down and get decent value.

EVERYTHING depends on St Louis. If they take Dorsey, who Atlanta covets, then Atlanta takes Ryan most likely or trades down. If they do take him then Long, McFadden and Gholston are all sitting there at #4. Oakland says they are shopping the pick. I would expect all hell to break loose if those 3 are still on the board at #4.

KatJ, you were on awesome form in the wee hours of this morning. Post after post of alcohol-fuelled, testosterone-laden, Jets-loving rants - and this was your best. It's been a pleasure combing through the threads and charting your progress!

We will get this one right I feel it, and if our guy isn't on the board when we pick, I expect we will find a way to trade down because somebody will want to move up, either for Ellis, Ryan, DMC, Long, Gholston, Mckelvin. My really favorite scenario is the jets slide down to 10 for Brown and 10, then slide to 19 for Lito 19 and a third, and then we go with Sweed. Our team will have drastically improved thats what i am hoping for.

However regardless if we pick my favorite top 6 guy, Chris Long or my least favorite 3, DMC Gholston and Ryan, I will have faith. It is time for this organization to get up over the top of this hump we have had in front of us for 40 years.... not saying this year is the year, but I think next year (with two more solid drafts) we could have a very special team on our hands....

If the Jets use the first 2 rounds on a punter and a tight end... I'm sure they will have wonderful NFL careers, and set many records... GO JETS!!!!

Personally I'd be glad if McFadden got taken before the Jets' pick that way they won't boo the poor kid we do draft. Of course if the Jets DO want McFadden that's a horse of another color but I honestly think he's not first on the pecking order. We do have what should be a solid RB tandem with an improved o-line.

My personal preference is Chris Long but know he almost definitely won't be around at 6

Some things I find funny (not to say I dont say them also)

"We must have faith in our front office"
I've been having faith for 30 years, doesn't seem to really help. I think it would be more appropriate to say we wish them luck...after all the bru-ha-ha is over it mostly comes down preparation, egos and a whole lot of luck.

"I hope they dont screw this up"
Unless we walk away with a punter and long snapper in rounds 1 and 2 how the hell will any of us know if they screwed this up. We all get our information from sports news sources...we all have no idea what we are talking about and that is why we are not getting 7 figures to hand in a piece of paper to Goodell. If they take Mckelvin how do any of us really know if that was a reach or not?

  20. I'm not sure i'm feelin this 3 pm start. Sure it's great for keeping me out of the dog house...but god there is just so much anxiety running through me right now. Just make it 3 pm already!
