judging a player because of his family background irks you, half the nfl players come from homes much like mcfadden and if not worse, get over urself.
*sigh*....I'm NOT saying we shouldn't draft anymore OL guys...i'm saying we shouldn't draft somebody who's gonna ride the bench for the first year and get 20 million guaranteed. We could use that first rounder elsewhere....hell, I would take McKelvin in a heartbeat over Clady....at least he'll be a starter....and we have a defenite need in the secondary. Let's take some OL players in the later rounds.
dude...I'm not "irked"....I'm concerned that his family situation could have an impact on his football career. The guy is a stud...if he's there...take him. But you can't sit there and tell me that his crack-smoking mother doesn't concern you. She's already stated that she doesn't think NYC isn't a good fit for Darren.....gee, thanks mom.
What Djak is saying is #6 pick = Impact player/starter. I know we are all hyped up and finger nail biting right now. Wouldn't want to be a mod on here tomorrow
Irony. Who said I was talking about Clady for depth? You should take your own advice and read and stop putting words in my mouth, hypocrite. I was talking about our STARTERS. Here, let me spell it for you... S-T-A-R-T-E-R-S. That spells STARTERS. Now go type that into your Speak and Spell. You can never spend too much on OL talent, especially when the unit has been in a state of overall neglect and was as bad as it was last season. You can draft 100 runningbacks and it will not help, but go on with your bad-ass runningback love, genius. Any player this team is going to take in round 1 is going to start soon if not immediately, going by the trends of the past 2 seasons. If the Jets took Clady, I think he would be in immediate rotation with Woody and then take over starting duties halfway through the season. This 'sit back and relax because we spent a ton of money this offseason' crap is laughable. We need to keep building where it counts, not spend 1st round draft pick frivolously on whatever runningback is available. Wake up.
Clady is the right pick absent a trade down option. The Jet's offensive line still only has one person under 30 who looks to better than average at this point. Replacing Clement with Clady, or even moving D'Brick to RT and putting Clady at LT would be a very positive move for the Jets if they cannot get Long or Gholston.
wow...class act. and still blind....i'll tell you a 3rd time, since your meds haven't kicked in yet...I"m not saying draft a runningback, i used Mendenhall and Stewart as examples...I'd take Rivers or McKelvin too....just not an O-line player at #6...man, I'm so glad you're not the Jets GM...we'd have a draft class full of fucking Oline hogs. Maybe Clady can play Wideout too, what do you think? I mean...hey...can't go wrong, right? if you think Clady should be drafted as a starter for this year.....you shouldn't be takin seriously on this board...honest. But then again..Clady did have a 13 on his wonderlic...and retards do like to stick together...so i can see why you're so adamant on his behalf.
Your input on everything is laughable, didn't you once try to make people think your internet chickenscratch was valuable because you were a pee-wee coach or something? I give class answers to people that aren't drowning in stupidity. BTW, you aren't saying anything for the third time, but it might as well be for all of the half-headed literary stumbling you do on a consistent basis.
pee-wee coach? lol.....are you schizophrenic or something? class answers....wow.... LOL. You seem like the kind of guy that gets cheated on by their g/f with guys like me....i don't know.....can't put my finger on it.....but i'm sure there's a "class answer" out there for you regarding it....lol. Seriously though..here's some free advice..think about what you're gonna say before you post it.....you're an easy target otherwise. Say hi to your girlfriend for me.
The Jets OL right now is marginal at best with the additions. We have dire needs all over the field which puts us in position to take the highest rated player on the board. Clady may well be it when it's our turn, not a bad move considering it's an area of outright need.
there's better picks than Clady that will be available at #6....and we have bigger needs than Oline (QB,CB,WR, then Oline)..IMO. I think we can get a quality O-line player in the later rounds...ie Jeremy Zuttah.
Hahaha, girlfriend jokes? Do you stumble around in life as awkwardly as you do on this board? You'd better pull your finger out of your ass and wash it off before you decide to put it on anything, feeb.
What makes you think Clady would ride the bench? I could easily see him starting at RT, shifting Woody to RG, and have Moore as depth (Moore would be a backup player on any championship team in the league). This would not surprise me in the least. Actually I think Cherilus is a better prospect than Clady, I would like to see us trade up into the late first and take him instead of Clady. And the OL players beyond round 2 this year are not that great in general. Why do you think there are so many Olinemen projected to go in the first one and a half rounds? The OL has great talent this year but it is top heavy.
that's big talk for a guy hiding behind a monitor. I guarantee you wouldn't be mouthing off if you and I were standing in the same room at this moment. And i wasn't making girlfriend jokes...I was being serious, half pint.
No way you take a CB or WR in this draft over Clady. If Ryan is there and they are not sold on Clemens and think Ryan can be the guy to build around that's a no brainer. This guy is a top rated player, take a real look at our OL we have two solid players today DBrick is still learning and nothing great yet, Moore and Woody aren't exactly top OL talent.
you have a valid point, Winston...in regards to the fact that we still need to shore up the right side....but my question to you is...why would you spend a 1st rounder on a guy that got a 13 on the Wonderlic...when we can still shore up the Oline with picks in later rounds. If the Jets were picking in the late teens or 20's of the first round....then i'm all for Clady....but IMO, i think #6 is too high to grab him. You can join Abyzmul in calling me stupid if you like....it's just my opinion.....I think it would de-value our pick.
Oh wait, first it's the girlfriend jokes, then it's the 'tough guy hiding behind the monitor' thing. You are like a walking internet cliche. That's C-L-I-C-H-E. For your Speak and Spell.
