1st. Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas -If he falls past Oakland, we will certainly draft him and he could be the face of this team for years to come....i have all the faith in the world that his off-field issues will not be a problem...this organization is very strict and will not tolerate it....and teddy atlas thinks he is a good kid and Mangini specifically asked teddy to hang out with him and study his off-field concerns. 2nd. Curtis Lofton, ILB, Oaklahoma -A inside linebacker who would be a huge addition to this team, Eric Barton is getting up there in age and i am sick of seeing him make tackles 7-10 yards up the field....Curtis and David have the potential to be the most frightening young duo at ILB in the league and carry this defense for the next 5-10 years... TRADE: The New York Jets trade their first 2008 fourth round pick and 2008's 6th round pick and next years 2009 fourth round pick(redskins) to the Carolina Panthers for their 2008 3rd round pick and 2008's 7th round pick 3rd. Tyvon Branch, CB, Uconn -exactly what mangini is looking for and he is know for trading for players he wants..see Darelle Revis and David Harris:lol: Mangini wants to speed up his entire team and tyvon branch is fast as hell and has great intangibles/leadership 4th. William Franklin, WR, Missouri -A underrated recevier that can be our deep threat....decent height at 6' but ran a 4.37 forty......has solid character and is very very tough...can be a steal in this round 7th. Durant Brooks, P, Georgia Tech -simple, we need a punter and hes the best in the draft 7th. Chris Mcduffie, OG, Clemson -a nasty player who excels at run blocking...technique is poor but that gets better with time...hes a 7th round pick...
Great draft...I don't know if Branch makes it to the 3rd, but that would be a steal. Franklin was excellent for Mizzou, and I agree that he would be a steal in the 4th. We still have a 5th rounder though, right?
Excellent. The trade is even solid, but I doubt Branch would be there. Make him a DB since he is also being looked at as a FS, which makes him an even more attractive prospect to us. I'd love him with our 2nd rounder. Maybe a TAD bit of a reach to some, but I think he's the real deal. I wouldn't even bother with a punter... Great draft though...
