What would be worst strategy wise for us to see as we wait tomorrow?

    I'm thinking # 2 Rams- C. Long
    # 3 Falcons- M. Ryan

only because of the trade potential that ryan creates that dorsey seemingly wouldnt

    thoughts?

Dorsey at 6 may have more trade potential than either Ryan or Long.

    worse case scenario imo is
    2 Long
    3 Dorsey
    4 Mcfadden
    5 Gholsten

Ryan I think has no trade value unless Carolina wants to get above the Ravens or the Saints want to get above bengals for ellis

I'd agree, although Ellis at #5 (Saints trade up) might actually be worse. I'm not sold on Gholston, and I think he'd be the guy that can free fall if he doesn't go top 6.

    2 - Long
    3 - McFadden

Those are the best 2 guys in the draft after Jake Long . . . What else would be a factor?

Bingo. Trading back to the Panthers would be the ideal trade IMO, but it's a less likely one to happen. I'm not sure Dorsey makes it to us if he gets passed up by the Rams and Falcons. I think he might be the one player that Al would pass on McFadden for.

Still, it'll likely be irrelevant. Dorsey will go 2 or 3, almost guaranteed.

If we're sitting there with only Ryan on the board, we're fucked.

Not necessarily. I think we're the highest draft pick that Carolina would conceivably trade with, since Baltimore is two steps below. We've done ourselves a favor by publicizing an interest in Ryan. That shows Baltimore and Carolina that we're not afraid to take him if he falls and our other options are gone.

That would also leave Sedrick Ellis on the board, and could open up a trade with New Orleans, who would love to jump over New England to grab him. There are options, but with only 10 minutes between picks now, we'd better have all three teams lined up well in advance.

Picking so early, I'm sure we've drawn up numerous senarios of what could happen. I'm also sure we have had talks with all the teams who might want to move up.

I agree...Dorsey is more sought after than Ryan, IMO. It sounds like the Saints are prepared to sell the farm to trade up to get him. If Dorsey drops to us....I'd hope we would swing a trade.
