From Todd McShay. I would be very happy with this, if the "worst possible scenario" occurs and we need to trade down (Long-Long-Dorsey-McFadden-Gholston). We could pick up McKlevin at 10 or trade down even further (maybe with the Eagles, for Sheppard and #19). Anyway, a line of Brick-Faneca-Mangold-Woody-Brown would be insane! Thoughts?
I wouldn't mind that either, I still also wouldn't mind Ryan at 6. Think I'm going to be pleased any number of ways tomorrow.
I read about that this morning but the article I read was more of them moving up to number 2 with that deal http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10797100/rss
I would do this deal even if Mcfadden or Gholston or Long is on the board. So at 10 I would trade back with Philly for 19, Lito and a 3rd. then at 19 I take Limas Sweed. We just are in great shape we pick up 2 former probowlers, we upgrade our roster significantly by adding a young star RT in Brown a great CB in Sheppard (all be it, when healthy) we pick up the best WR in the draft in Sweed, and add a third round pick, oh and all the money we would have been paying the #6 pick in the draft, probably will be distributed among those 4 new additions. GO Jets! J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets! and the home of the.. Jets!
I'd do it too, whether Gholston, Long or McFadden (or all) are on board. If I can trade down again (with Philly), picking up Lito for nothing, that would make my day. Then the Jets have 1 1st rd/1 2nd rd/1 3rd round pick to bolster the roster. I think 1st round pick should go to Limas Sweed too, but I also believe there are a lot of talents to be had later on
I absolutley would make that deal, the only player that would cause me to think twice would be if chris long fell to 6, however Brown's contract must be considered, i have no idea what he makes and I assume it would work but adding Brown, Sheppard, and the rookies may prove difficult
I would not do this because KC would almost certainly take that offer...and if the Saints get to #5, there is no question they will select Sed Ellis. That would be great because then we would get a shot at either McFadden or Gholston.
not that hard, we opened up 8 million for this year by moving D-rob, plus the rookies go into the Rookie cap. Also what would have gone to the #6 pick AKA 20 million + garunteed, would be spread amongst the 3 guys....
That deal would be unbeilevable, we end up with Brown, Shepard and Sweed/Cromartie AND possibly some extra later round picks. I would take that if everyone we wanted was on the board at six regardless. Too good to be true.
I'd do this deal no matter what...Groves, Harvey, Mendenhall, McKlevin, Stewart, Rivers...thats not even the guys we don't know could be a possibility like Balmer, Devin Thomas, Jerod Mayo.... Brown + 10 for 6 would be sick...
That would be unbelievable!! and I'll add to it...trade phi's #19 to Atl (they'd take Brohm ahead of TB) for their #34 (2nd) and #68 (3rd). We'd have: OL - Brown Pro-bowler CB - Sheppard Pro-bowler #34 2nd (from Atl) - Lofton, ILB #36 2nd (ours) - Avril, OLB/DE #68 3rd (from Atl) - Nelson, WR #80 3rd (from Phi) - Rubin, DT #102 4th (ours) - Cottam, TE #113 4th (ours) - S, RB etc... #171 6th (ours) - S, RB etc... #211 7th (ours) - S, RB etc... So we'd have adressed - Offense: OL, WR, TE, RB (Gotta give Clemens this year) Defense: DL, ILB, OLB, CB, S Wow, I just wasted 15 minutes of my life putting this together. Bit of fun at least.
KC is the likely the best fit for this deal. They need depth & OT is one of their biggest needs. That could work out beautifully then. ESPN is talking about the draft & the latest buzz was: Dorsey #2 to St. Louis McFadden #4 to the Raiders If The Saints take Ellis at #5, & with Atlanta not needing a DE, we could be staring at a situation where both Chris Long & Gholston are available at #6.
