Just saw this on the KFFL hotwire and thought it was amusing.

NFL | Choice wants to be known as a great player
    Thu, 24 Apr 2008 09:09:14 -0700

Matthew J. Darnell, of Yahoo! Sports, reports Georgia Tech RB Tashard Choice wants to be known as a great player in the NFL after his career is over. Choice said he would rather have a career were he makes the Pro Bowl, has a chance at the Hall of Fame and is known as a great player, rather than be known as a solid player while winning three Super Bowls.

I'm sure that there are many players who honestly feel that way, but someone needs to tell this kid that teams don't really want to hear this kind of talk right before the draft, especially if you're a mid-round prospect who could stand to slide a bit. Incidentally, and rather meaninglessly, Todd McShay's latest mock projects him going to us in the 4th round.

If we draft him in the 4th round...and he becomes a Hall of Famer, he can say whatever the hell he wants.

This reminds me of the Madden Player builder mode where you can create a douche by picking different personality options

Funny thing is, he didn't even say he'd rather be a Hall of Famer. He said he'd rather "have a chance" at the HOF.

My comment had more to do with the fact that it's stupid to make a comment like this right before the draft than the fact that he feels that way. The smarter thing would have been to say that he feels he has a good shot at a HOF career AND could help his team win a few SBs.

Why don't you enter the draft? You'd dominate your interviews.

If you're a hall of famer, you've got to feel you're helping your team, right?

Seriously, if he gets into HOF that pretty much says he has done everything asked of him and more. If he doesn't win superbowls during his career and he gets into the HOF that's his team's fault not his.

No, if you're a HOFer you probably only cared about compiling your stats.

All he's saying is that he'd rather be Barry Sanders than Kevin Faulk. I see nothing wrong with that.

Generally, when a guy puts up Hall of Fame type stats, he helps his team when a lot of games.
