The question should be - if we were stuck with the #1 pick who would we take. Thank God we're not this draft has no clear cut franchise type numero uno.

They'd have to take C. Long!! Picture a defensive line of an in shape and motivated Jenkins, Ellis, and Chris Long! We might actually finally be able to get a push up front, stop the run, and get to the Qb. Throw in Harris, Rhodes, and Revis and they have a decent D.

Chris Long would be my pick too, if I was choosing at the top. UNless I was running a 4-3, and then it would most definitely be Dorsey.

Chris Long without a doubt. He is the safest pick I think anyway. McFadden would be nice too though...

Long is going to be a LB in the 3-4, not a DL.

agree. I think Chris is 2nd safest pick of Top 6, and only one available now to us. Jake Long was safest overall IMHO.

Definitely Jake and NOT Christ Long.

I'm not saying chris isn't a great player of football, but with the #1 pick you have to pick a sure thing.

Chris long on the jets might be out of scheme, like vilma. You definitely pick Jake Long, who would anchor the right side of our line for ten years. Shit.

Gallery was also supposed to be the most bombproff of all the prospects a few years ago and that did not turn out. Just because he is O-line does not mean he will not be a bust. He is also a RT that is looking to be moved to LT, well that could cause some problems right there.

For me give me Chris Long, I like Gholston better for the boom potential but at number 1 you gotta have the safer bet and that would be Long

For a 4-3 team, You've got the options of Chris Long (DE) and Glen Dorsey (DT). For a 3-4 team, I see Chris Long as the only true #1.

    After Further Review:

Vernon Gholston is my final answer...

The 3 most dominating players I see in the draft are Dorsey, McFadden & Gholston. There are other DT's that are good coming out. There are also other RB's that are very good coming out. But there is no other OLB like Gholston with the size/speed/strength proportions that he has. That why I would have to select Gholston. We'll see come draft day what the Jets' do. They have been hitting the nail on the head on there #1 picks.
