Nice Jabba.....you think Lawrence Jackson could work in the 3-4 as an OLB? I had always thought of him as a purely 4-3 DE, but I'd like to hear your reasoning.

As far as the Jets go, awesome 1st round pick but I'd go with Lofton in round 2. I think the management will run with Pace and B. Thomas at OLB, but would want to replace Barton at ILB.

I think NYG would pounce on Phillips to replace Gabril Wilson, and I think TEN would want the tall Hardy at WR because their D-Line is the team's strength. I also dont know if TB has the roster spots available to grab a QB, as much as they'd like one. They cut Simms and they still have Gradkowski, Griese and Garcia. Sadly I think Talib may have burnt alot of bridges and I dont think he goes in round 1, I do think GB will take another CB and thats Brandon Flowers of Va Tech.

I think Cherlius will be a great player but I dont know about him being the 3rd OT being taken, ahead of Otah and C. Williams.

Great draft outside of that though.

Jets worked him out extensively at 34OLB in a private workout and I'm hearing they really liked what they saw

Tony Pauline believes the Jets will target Jackson in RD 2 if they don't draft a DE/OLB in RD 1

Who knows for sure, so many smoke screens at this time of year, but I'm hearing the Jets really like LJ at 34OLB

Sounds good to me, just the first time I'm hearing of him being in the 3-4. I really like him as a prospect, I think he's a bit underrated on most draft boards. Good to hear the Jets liked what they saw, I think he'd be a solid pickup in the 2nd.

I would be pretty upset if we missed Talib by one pick. I would also prefer Lofton to Jackson, because I think we need an ILB more.

Is Sedrick Ellis a good fit in the Pats' 3-4?

I don't like Gosder Cherilus to the Cards. They just took Levi Brown in the 1st last year and Cherilus is more of a RT.

I also don't like Jerod Mayo to Houston, but I guess it could happen. I just think they are more likely to go CB or OL there.

What is it about Kenny Phillips that makes everyone drop him down so far.

I haven't heard much about Lawrence Jackson being a good fit as a 3-4 OLB, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Other than this it looks pretty good.

I hope we don't take two LBs, personally. Seems like overkill with Harris & Pace already locks as long-term starters. I'd prefer Cason or a WR there.

We could rival the Chargers and Cowboys as the best 3-4 front 7 in the NFL with those selections.

No more running on the Jets :)

    Not if you run a 34 scheme and you need an upgrade at OLB and ILB as we do {IMO}

    Vernon Gholston replaces Bust Thomas

    Curtis Lofton replaces Eric Barton

    OLB Calvin Pace
    ILB David Harris
    ILB Curtis Lofton
    OLB Vernon Gholston

That has some serious "Super Unit" potential .. YOUNG Super Unit potential from left to right

very true Jabba, and I wouldn't say no to that LB core at all... yet I still don't think the Jets are that high on Gholston...
