    Jared Allen dealt...

    1) Jake Long
    2) Vernon Gholston
    3) Glenn Dorsey
    4) Darren McFadden
    5) Chris Long

Dear lord please let Herm fall in love with Branden Albert or Matt Ryan...

I'm going to hold out hope that the Chiefs are going to draft Albert at #5 and get their DE at 17. Dear lord I hope so, that or tales from the crypt keeper Al Davis comes to his senses and takes Chris Long himself and McFadden falls to us.

Going to be a very stressful day let me tell you.

The Chiefs will take whoever of Long or Gholston is left on the 5 for them. Herm needs a dominant edge pass rusher in his cover 2 or it breaks down.

    That's why I'm hoping Gholston goes 2, and C. Long goes 4.

Pray the Saints make that trade happen with the Rams so they can take Dorsey. The Falcons would likely take Ryan in that scenario, leaving C Long, Gholston, and McFadden for the next 3 picks.

Or this, I wish the league would let the Rams negotiate with Dorsey already:

1 Miami Dolphins => Jake Long , Offensive Tackle , University of Michigan
2 St. Louis Rams => Glenn Dorsey , Defensive Tackle , Louisiana State University
3 Atlanta Falcons => Matt Ryan , Quarterback , Boston College
4 Oakland Raiders => Chris Long , Defensive End , University of Virginia
5 Kansas City Chiefs => Vernon Gholston , Defensive End , The Ohio State University
6 New York Jets => Darren McFadden , Runningback , University of Arkansas

Is it just me or is McFadden the most overanalyzed running back since Willis McGahee and busts Maurice Clarett and Lawrence Phillips?

I'd much rather get a pass rusher to help in the 3-4. That trade has potentially crippled our options.

Would anyone care to surmise our front office's draft board? Would it be Long, Dorsey, McFadden, Gholston and Ryan.

I doubt we're interested in Dorsey. I'd guess the other four would fall in that order, with maybe a CB behind that or someone like Keith Rivers.

Its pretty much guaranteed that we'll trade down now I would think.

If it goes down the way I put in my original post, try and trade down with Panthers, Ravens, or Bears so they can get Ryan and take Rodgers-Cromartie. Hell I'd even take him at 6 over Ryan.

If we trade down, I'd prefer the Panthers as a trading partner. More value in that with multiple players available at the spot that could either fill a need or boost a position. Personally, I'd love to see Jonathan Stewart in a nice green uni for a change (as opposed to those god awful Oregon ones). That only works if we go BPA at that point, though.

The key is St. Louis. If they take Dorsey we're in good shape to get McFadden, Chris Long or Gholston.

Being from Kansas City currently there are so many things the Chiefs need that it's just impossible to guess where they Chiefs will go. The Chiefs offensive line is a turnstile, the defense is still stronger than the offensive side...but it is Herm we're talking about, but the Chiefs really need to improve their ground game or they could have a defense of Lawrence Taylors and it wouldn't matter because the defense would be exhausted from being on the field all the time.

General concensus in KC is the Chiefs will go O-Line in the first round.

I can see that scenario panning out, except swap Gholston and Long. Davis will want Gholston over Long because he's the better athlete... traditionally that is always how the Raiders have drafted. If the Raiders don't go Gholston, then it'll be McFadden.

Personally I'm praying that either McFadden or Long fall to us, or that we can at least bait someone into giving up a 3rd round pick to move up for Ryan.

Why would KC trade a known quantity in Allen, who is a young, pro-bowl player for an unknown rookie DE? Makes no sense. I think they draft OL and/or QB.

What, did you think we were going to get Jared Allen? His trade has absoultely nothing do do with us being screwed, we're in the exact same place we were before he was traded, nothing has changed.
