What do you mean Ryan is ranked lower than Leinart and Cutler?

Sorry to be harsh, but WTF are you talking about? Ryan would sit for one year MAXIMUM.

Scary or not why else would they try to move to #2 which is an expensive proposition. They tried to do it 2 years ago to get Bush. This doesn't surprise me at all.

i for one am not even thinking about m.ryan, especialy at #6, and i would be beyond pissed if we trade up to get him, c.long, gholston, or mcfadden, nobody else at #6

If they were to draft Ryan that high he would probably sit 8 games max.

Oh Ryan has an arm, but the fact that he has had 1 solid year in his college career and that was his senior year is what scares me. Never trust those guys at all.

The Jets won't trade to the #2 spot.....we have too many needs to forfeit the picks needed to move up. It would be career suicide for Tangini.

He was good in '06. He led the ACC in passing yards. It wasn't like he was trash and all of a sudden was good in 2007.

Yea I agree. Moving up to take a QB in the top 5 means the guy will sink or swim after 1 year of sitting max. On one hand I'm glad that they've brought most of the QB's in this offseason and are actively trying to find their guy. On the other hand I'm not sure if that guy should be Matt Ryan.

I like Claytons Flacco rumor better. I'll be patient, I promise. :)

He has nothing but an average arm, I have seen that game winning duck he threw against VT, and that was one throw.

Your link didn't work, but I can definitely see Flacco becoming a Jet in round 2. It makes a lot of sense. It gives KC a chance to succeed still while Flacco gets better, and if KC is good enough, we can move Flacco like Atlanta did with Schaub or keep him as insurance. If KC isn't the answer, Flacco will get a shot.

I think Ryan will prove to be like a taller version of Drew Brees.

Ryan's football IQ and character does compare to Peyton Manning and Chad Pennington.

Every article that I've read by almost every draft expert I can find says that if Ryan were in the same draft as Young, Leinart, and Cutler...he would be ranked below them. It just doesn't make sense that we'd let them slide by us and then, 2 years later, give up half our draft to select someone ranked worse.

It is because the Jets had to build up the offensive line in 2006. Leinart or Cutler would have sat for most of 2006 and would have been battered in 2007.

Pennington does not have much left and Clemens looks bad. Now a solid offensive line is in place. Now it is time to bring in a franchise QB.

"Draft experts" thought Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch were going to be good. I don't get too crazy off what those f---ers say.

    Judge for yourself:

Notice how he is on the run AND throwing against his body. Hardly a duck. BTW, the throw is 1:40 in.

It greatly increases the chance of either McFadden, Gholston, or Long falling to us
