You can say the same argument for Gholston or McFadden.

"If the front office believes (insert name here) is going to be a franchise (insert position here), they have to do whatever it takes to get him."

Maybe they fell in love with Ryan, Gholston, McFadden, Chris Long.

The Rams need Dorsey if they plan to bump Carriker back outside. If they decide to keep him inside, or if they really are considering a move to the 3-4, Long makes a lot of sense.

Ditto bro. Especially for someone who I believe will only be a mid-tier QB throughout his career.

The difference is QB is the most important position on the field and it just happens to be the most unsettled position on the team.

That's a pretty pathetic statement to say...

Hard to judge what a QB can do when he has non-stop pressure in his face. Give Clemens this season behind a solid O-line and if he still sucks, draft a QB in 09. But don't give up next years picks already to draft a QB this year who Clemens might be just as good as behind a good o-line who gives him the time to throw.

I would agree. They sent him some of the game book prior their visit and ran him through actual plays we use. If they fell in love with him, and think he's their guy, they have to go get him. If he gets past Atlanta and is there at 5, the Ravens will strike a deal with the Chiefs. Heck, the Chiefs might even take him.

Forget Gholston. We would never trade up to get him.

Anybody think we're just trying to get Baltimore or another team to trade up for Ryan?

A trade up for anyone other than Ryan makes no sense at all. If they trade up for Gholston I will be so furious i may consider having this be me last season as a ticket holder. Moving up for anyone other than what they view as a franchise qb makes no sense in such a deep draft.

Hard for us to judge? yes.. Hard for the FO to judge? not so much. If they don't think Clemens can be the man(all indications point to this being the case) then they have to find that guy this draft, no point wasting a whole year.

If they trade up it's only for Long and maybe Ryan but I really find it next to impossible that they would trade up for Ryan. Ryan will fall to the Jets anyway. certainly past #2.

True, this is going to be an interesting draft, although I highly doubt we make a deal with the Rams to move up to #2, I hope I'm right.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets are saying that so another team like Baltimore will move up... More chance for their guy to fall.

The possibility of him going to Atlanta has to be at least 50%.

This is just a terrible idea. Hopefully Dorsey gets chosen before six and that leaves us with Chris Long, DMC, Ryan, or Gholston.

If they don't want Ryan, it pushes whomever they do want down a slot.

I'm gonna have to call bullshit on this one merely for the fact that we passed on Leinart and Cutler when they fell into their laps...now we're gonna trade up to get a QB ranked lower than those two?

    I don't think so.
