Basically the only justification the raiders have for taking Mcfadden is because the owner is old and senile. Wtf that makes no sense. He would have to be retarted to pass on either chris Long, Jake Long, Vernon Gholoston, or Glen Dorsey all which would fill a huge need. I really don't think he does it and Mcfadden is ours unless the chiefs trade with someone to jump ahead of us. lets pray Al Davis has atleast a few marbles left.

It isn't so much that he is old and crazy, it is that he LOVES really fast football players.

Darren McFadden wouldn't fill a need for the Raiders, but he wouldn't fill a need for the New York Jets either.

Unless Chris Long is available, I don't see this team passing on McFadden.

I pray that one of those 5 teams take DMAC before our selection. I can already foresee so many freaking out in suicidal lingo, about, why the Jets would possibly pass on someone like DMAC? He is not that great and we are being way to public with this specific individual, which leads me to believe we are trying to lay down some very heavy smoke leading up to the draft.

Dude, I am not disagreeing with you.

The Raiders most cetainly don't need Darren McFadden, but that doesn't mean they won't take him.

    Yes..........

  7. Right now the Raiders biggest problem is cap space. They literally have less than a million available to spend right now.

Unless they can dump somebody..they may have no choice but to trade down. If they do stay at 4...It'd be extremely foolish to tie up big time money on a player who plays a position they have 4 young players at...and have other glaring needs.

Now I could understand if he was by FAR the best player available on their board and trading down was not an option. But C Long, gholston or dorsey SHOULD be there...and all 3 of those have equal value to DMAC and fill a bigger need for them.

Why wouldn't they take Mcfaddenn to go with their young QB?????? They could possibly have 2very young playmakers to build a franchise around and they are going nowhere with Fargas and Jordan

They need 4.9 million for their draftees alone. I don't know who they can release or get to renegotiate to make up enough. It ought to be interesting.

He's not bad but I think Adam Shine would do a better job.

He's got all the nuggets! As long as we don't let Ray Lucas into the war room we're ok.

When Davis has his mind set on something for the Raiders, that certain "something" will happen. The question is if he has his mind set on McFadden, if he does then the rest of the Raiders organization will have no say in the matter.

I think there is no question that the Raiders will pick McFadden, which will not necessarily be a bad thing for this organization.

I too agree, Pesce, Buttle knows what's up. He needs to get on the mgt side

BTW, what happens to the Raiders cap if they take McF and dump the other 4 RBs?

Also, I think there's trade value in both Jordan and Fargas.

Davis can do what he wants....he's not ruining this franchise, so i couldn't care less what he does.

But having said that...I really hope the rumours of the Jets possibly trading up to the #4 selection aren't true....because then a riot will ensue at Radio City ....as none of those players projected in the top 5 are worth selling the farm over...IMO

This post goes against everything you have said about the Jets and McFadden to date. No matter who the Raiders draft at #4, they will have to spend the same amount of money signing that player. So let's take money out of the picture and assume the Raiders keep their pick.

To say that it would be extremely foolish for the Raiders to tie up big money on a running back because they have 4 backs already applies equally to the Jets. The Raiders have Fargas - a one year wonder, Rhodes - career back up, Jordan - a major disappointment. The Jets have Jones - a quality back who was hurt by the Jet OL last year, Washington - a young change of pace gamebreaker, and Chatman - similar to Fargas or Rhodes. It would be as foolish for the Jets to draft McFadden and tie up all that money in running backs as for the Raiders. In fact, I would say the Jet RB corps is superior to the Raiders.

The Jets also have glaring needs that far overshadow RB. The lack of an edge rusher is the most glaring weakness on the Jets. You've been stumping for McFadden by saying that he was by far the BPA. Now you admit that Gholston has equal value. With the Jets need for a pass rusher and with no need for a running back, based on your post above, which I agree with, Gholston is clearly the superior pick for Jets if both he and McFadden are available.

It is clear to me that you want McFadden in green and white, which is fine. But your post above is reasoned and correct about there being no clear BPA among many of the players projected to go early in the draft. When that happens, and the values appear equal or close to being equal, you draft need. And defense is a far greater need for the Jets than running back. Glad you now see it my way.
