http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=paolantonio_sal&id=3342009 Good Article... Hall is not the God Oakland will think he is. ........Jeaux?
How many corners wouldn't be too small against guys like TO and Randy Moss? Hall might be a bit overrated, but this is an unfair criticism IMO.
If this trend continues we wont beable to afford Revis once he needs a new contract in 5 years if he continues to improve, unless the salary cap goes away. Could you imagine giving a CB a 100 million dollar contract?!
In 5 years, 100 Mill for a CB will be considered "normal" and QBs will make 165 Million for 8 years. The Salaries are catching up to baseball.
Yeah, that's totally normal. I was just reading an article about the shitty 1991 draft and how Rocket Ismail was the number one prospect. He was offered a 2 year, 8 million dollar contract by the CFL. Everyone thought that was unheard of so he took it. Times change.
the major concern about hall is that he is so fast, and yet he gets beat on deep plays way too often. He is not a very smart corner. Does anyone remember where Hines Ward outran him to the endzone with one shoe on? And he is extremely cocky, and has a majorly inflated ego.
The market dictates price dude...it's really not hard to understand. Considering his age, injury history (none), and track record within the league...I think he is worth the 70 million. It's not like the Raiders just handed him 70 million just because...the guy is a good player.
Thanks for regurgitating the story. I didn't understand it until you broke it down for me. Thanks.
Lets see, DeAngelo Hall 24 year old multiple pro bowls 4.27 40 the perfect CB for Raiders attacking man to man D(man-man95%) Darelle Revis wouldn't even make this Raiders young exciting roster, lets see Asoumaga 26, Hall 24, Routt(could be the best of all of them), Washington(had a better rookie season then Revis)
I did. It was ridiculously slanted and a little simple...reminded me of an old baseball writers work...or a NY Post article about ARod..."he doesn't dominate every single play he's in/he's been beat before, therefore he is overrated" pretty much sums it up. I've heard DeAngelo Hall get knocked for "being in the right place at the right time" for some of his INTs somewhere...I never got that explained to me. I bet in that McNabb INT, what had happened was McNabb tripped or been rocked, and the ball kind of slipped into Hall's hands as he desperately tried to run away from TO.
Honestly, if the Raiders pick up Ellis or Dorsey, I think they could have one of the best defenses in the NFL. I liked this move from the moment I heard about it; Hall is a born Raider. I think the only NFL team with a clearly better secondary is Ed Reed.
