I think Carolina might be possible if they really want Matt Ryan like I've read they do.

Really sorry to hear that. I was hoping his injury would drop him to the early second.

Very interesting that 7 out of 10 NFL teams had him rated higher then McFadden.

So Joe Dratnik thinks Stewart should go in the mid-1st round. Therefore, if Stewart gets drafted in the top 10, it was a horrid mistake?

Also, not every "expert" rates him as the 3rd best RB.

Sounds very much like the Reggie Bush/Joseph Addai thing from a few years back, and in retrospect, I'd take Addai over Bush. Y'all have me convinced too. I think I'd rather have Stewart, who sounds like more of a man's RB.

If the Jets draft a RB at 6, it will be McFadden without a doubt. If they move down they may draft Mendenhall but I see Stewart as a distant third for the Jets. At least in the first round.

I would absolutely LOVE to get a big bruising back like this.

It would be a lot sweeter though if we could trade down and get him.

Trading down and getting Stewart would be great. Taking him at 6 likely isn't the best value. I do like him more than Mendenhall though.

I think an ideal situation in my mind if our top guys are off the board but Ryan is still there would be to trade down with Carolina or someone clamoring over him and nab Stewart in the first. I absolutely love this kid.

I'm not even sure stewart at 6 is a bad call...a bit of a reach but he seems more likely to pan out consistently than DMC

If McFadden, the Longs, and Gholston are gone at #6 and we can't trade out, Stewart, Harvey, Groves, or Mendenhall are my guys.

OK Guys.................Too many people are drinking the Kool-aid...thinking Stewart is going to be considered at #6. I like Stewart, but NOT at # 6.

First...it's DMC, than Mendenhall is the our guy, than DMC again, now Stewart. I'm in agreement that Stewart's stock shouldn't fall to late Rd 1 or RD 2, but saying he's a possible choice of the Jets at #6 is a bit much. If we trade down, than there's a possibility.

The Jets' have 6 players on their board for RD 1, without a trade, and Stewart isn't one of them, that I'm certain.

IMO, the Best 6 players on the Jets' Board, no particular order.
Long, Long, Gholston, Dorsey, DMC & Ryan.

Whoever falls to the Jet' s will be wearing Green & White. Most likely....VG, DMC or Ryan.

Depending on circumstances, there is a possibility Chris Long will fall to the Jets. I don't see a Chance Jake Long & Dorsey get out of the top 3.

That's the point here which everybody keeps missing. We CAN'T let ourselves get into the position where we are on the clock and both Longs, Gholston and McFadden are gone. And we won't. Count on it.

Jones will be the odd man out if we draft a 1st round RB, likely after the 2008 season.

With that said, I want Leon to compliment a bruiser.

If Stewart is that bruiser. If Stewart is a guy that's going to give you 7-9 years of 25 carries a game. He's worth the 6, period.

Why not? What's SO amazing about these guys that we MUST have them?

I'd love Harvey, Mendenhall, Groves, McKlevin, DRC, or Stewart.

If we take Groves, McKelvin, or Rodgers-Cromartie at six, I will spontaneously combust. They just aren't worth it.

    Kidding...it's your opinion.

I just think its illogical to have such a concrete opinion on something where you're missing so much info.

I see all those guys with the tools, performance, and intelligence to be excellent at their position. A coaching staff and organization have just as much to do with a draft pick's development as the draft pick does, and really in the end that player is whatever the coaching staff molds that player to be. Whether that player accepts being molded is a different issue, and it's usually why talented and productive guys like Lavar Arrington and TO get traded. When you ask a guy to be something you he doesn't want to be, no matter how talented he is eventually something will break.

If we pick any of those guys, that means our FO thinks that guy is versatile, smart, quick thinking, and very, very talented. Considering these guys are all sick athletes, were productive, and leaders on their teams I see no reason for them to be so totally eliminated like that. They're all highly ranked by all accounts, and none of done anything to hurt their stock this offseason from the info we have from people who usually have false info anyway...

You just can't pick someone that you know will be around later THAT high. Groves is supposed to be around late first, early second. Everyone knows how I feel about Mr. I-AA. I actually wouldn't be that upset with picking McKevlin, but I feel we can get better value at 6 by either taking some like McFadden, Long, or Gholston...or by trading out.

    I am a very concrete person. I don't break.
