Im basically looking for info on what the differences where in gameplay and features that were different in last years madden between the two. I own a ps2 and xbox360 I bought last years madden on xbox360 and it sucked because all the options and features that I was used to on the ps2 werent there. So I sold it back and bought it on the ps2. Now this year Im thinking of buying a ps3 and trying it out on that I was wondering will I be disappointed again.
Dude, I got an entire story about this. To make a long story short, I returned my Madden '08 for the PS3, and eventually got Madden '08 for the PS2 at a reduced price (abt a month later - $35). I asked the clerk behind the register if he's known for anybody returning their Madden's for the PS3, and he said, "surprisingly yeah. People were unhappy with it."
not what I wanted to hear but it was what I figured. Im sick of Madden exclusive rights I would think thats what they call a monopoly and against the law. They got no competition so the game doesnt have many noticeable changes year in and out.
Madden '09 will be different, it's the 20th year & they brought in the guy who did the PS2 versions when they were good. He stated that '09 will have more features than any of the PS2 games ever had. http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?threadID=358270&tstart=0 Hi guys, Even though it's still early, our Madden NFL 09 dev team wants to share a couple of tidbits about the game with you. Enjoy this first blog from D-Cas and feel free to leave comments here in the thread. A New Season is Approaching! Hello again Madden fans! It’s been over six months since we last did an official blog, but as the NFL Draft approaches the time is right to get a new year kicked off. I’ve read some comments on message boards about us being very silent about the game- and what that could possibly mean. Well allow me to break the silence and assure everyone that the development team here at Tiburon has been hard at work making what I think is shaping up to be the best Madden EVER. I feel like we are past the transitional challenges and ups-and-downs that we experienced in the early years of Next Gen, and that we have built the same type of efficiency and innovation that we had during the PS2/Xbox years. The big difference is now we are dealing with much more powerful hardware, so we can really take football gaming to a whole new level. Needless to say- I’m excited! In the wake of our long silence, I‘d like to take a second to address some of the sentiments I have been reading on message boards and give you guys a brief update: Are you watering down Madden?! Most of you have probably read Peter Moore’s blogs where he referenced our desire to make football gaming more approachable and easier for people of all ages and experience levels to play. We at Tiburon couldn’t agree with him more and I think that we have done a great job this year on accomplishing this goal in Madden. HOWEVER- I want to make one thing very clear! Making the game easier to approach does NOT have to compromise the great advanced gameplay experience that we have spent years building. From reading message boards it seems like our core Madden gamers (you guys) have been quick to assume that making the game more accessible means they will lose the depth they love. This is simply not the case! With proper design we can cater to both brand new and the hardest of hardcore users. Think about it… the level of depth and advanced features are the very things that have made Madden what it is today- why would we ever stray away from that? In fact this year we are adding even more depth and hardcore features than ever before AND we are also making a game that your little brother or dad can pick up and enjoy. When will Next-Gen be “caught up” to Current Gen?! Admittedly I have been a Current Gen guy at heart the last few years- in fact last year (Madden 08) was the first time I played a Next-Gen version of the game. I’ m also quick to tell people that Madden 2004 and Madden 2005 are my favorite versions to date. I get a lot of people, especially some of my CG playing friends, asking when will Next Gen “catch-up.” First off, I think that the term “ catch-up” is a pretty unfair term considering that some facets of NG Madden are well past CG Madden- like graphics for example. But not only do I understand the question, I constantly ask it too; when will my favorite CG features make it into NG? I’m going to go out on a limb right now and say that Madden 09 has not only “caught up” but it has surpassed CG from a sheer feature standpoint. Another thing to note is that one of our goals is to not only bring features over from CG, but to make them better in the transition. You are going to see that with a couple of the new features that we are bringing over this year. What about these staffing changes!? Of course another one of the hot message board topics was the departure of David Ortiz a couple months ago. David is a really cool guy, he loved Madden and we’ll surely miss him. Stepping into his place is Phil Frazier a guy who was a key member of the Madden team back in the glory years of PS2/Xbox. Phil worked on an entire generation of Madden, in fact the most successful generation, and he is extremely in tune with what the product needs to be and what people are looking for. Luckily he also has a special place in his heart for hardcore fans- his first words to me the day he started on this project: “D-Cas! What have we done for the hardcore this year and are they going to love it!?” Are you guys fixing the glitches from last year!? This might be my favorite part of the job! Every year you guys find some of the most innovative ways to take advantage of our AI. Working on CG I thought of myself as a deputy of shenanigans, helping to fix everything from nano-blitzes to online disconnection cheats. And rest assured that this year will be no different! Let’s take a look at a few of the tricks we have already fixed this year: -3 Man Front Nano- and other nano’ s of course -Double Pass and HB Pass Plays -Onside Kick Exploits -Jump Catching and Spectacular Catch Exploits -Online Disconnection Glitches- including the automotion offsides bug Ok-so give us the goods on next year’s game! What can we expect!? We’ve been quiet for a reason- we think this is going to be a VERY special year for the Madden franchise, not just because it is the 20th Anniversary but also because the game is looking awesome! We’ve really taken community opinions into consideration and you’ll be happy to know that you have had a direct influence on the contents of this game. We are not at a point where we are ready to release a bunch of information about the game, but we are getting ready to spill the beans very soon. Rest assured that once we make the initial announcement this year, there will be more blog content than ever to give you guys the full scoop.
I don't know about 360, Madden for PS3 didn't have...MADDEN. That was a pretty big deal for me. I mean, as retarded as he is with his classic lines as: "Usually, the team who puts up the most points...will win the game" I had to say it was very disappointed. Also, the previous Madden's leading up to '08 under the control setting gave u the option of following Madden 2005 controller setting (which I thought was perfect). Madden '08 for the PS3 put the Sprint button as R1 which just completely turned my world upside down. Like I said, I returned it after about 2-3 weeks. This year I'm gonna be on the lookout for game play, player smoothness, A.I. and most importantly Madden.
I cant remember but yea I think Madden wasnt in the 360 either. Well I guess I will buy it and see I want the ps3 anyway for the Final Fantasy game coming out soon plus a couple others I like that their online is free unlike the 360 also.
I don't think madden was in the last two years worth of games.. I hated the game calling anyway. And I look forward to NCAA over Madden. It's a better game all around.
Love NCAA been getting over the last 6 years now play a season or two of that then when Madden comes out play a season and import the draft class from NCAA. I hope the EA buyout happens for Take Two so they can get rights to MLB again and then can do that as well for the NCAA baseball and the MLB
I've always hated the lack of tweeks with personnel. In the offseason you can't change a persons position from a crappy WR to CB etc...The season after I won the SB I tried to sign R. Moss to my team via free agency and they refuse to come over, no matter how much I offered. Plus the bullshit of players like Willie Parker turning to 99 after a season. He has become unstoppable and hard to tackle. And players like Tomlinson ( 99 also) with more talent I've been able to shut down easily. Go figure.
Every year you get Madden and hate but we always get it the next year. Im starting to wonder why? I think the main reason i get it is just to argue with my friends about ratings and which guy is actually better. Vernon Gholston 87 speed? I think so
I just hate the ridiculous stats that Tomlinson always has. 2400 rushing yard and 38 TDs and he always breaks the record every season. It's so unrealistic that it makes the game bad.
