They need to eat his contract and get someone as a replacement, STAT. HOW DO YOU KEEP PITCHING TO MANNY?
I've been watching that, too, and every time I put the Sox/Yankees game on, Manny was crushing Mussina.
I hate hockey. Not dislike. Hate. Always have. Nope. He didn't give up a single baserunner in the top of the 4th. Stop flipping back then.
ive been flipping between stars/ducks, flyers/caps and habs/bruins. all of which are a thousand times more entertaining than yankees red sox for the millionth time...in April no less
I like baseball more overall, but the hockey game is the playoffs and I'm actually getting sick of Sox/Yanks games. I love pitching, and these games are affronts to that. After last night's 4 hours of garbage on both sides I need a night off.
Farnsworth is a douche. I'm all for hitting a guy for a dirty play, but to throw behind him because he's good? What a bitch.
I don't think he meant to throw behind him. I think he was trying to come inside to back him off the plate. But Farnsworth has the control of an 80 year old, in a bathtub, with a toaster.
No way. It was clearly intentional. It happens all the time in baseball, and it's stupid no matter who does it. I never understood going after a guy because he's been hitting well. You want to send a message? How about you get the guy out?
I'm a huge fan of pitching too, but Yankees/Red Sox is critical for me to watch. I quite literally hate the Red Sox. Like spit venom type hatred. I watch solely for the desire to see the Yankees spank the Sox, and when it doesn't happen, I get bent out of shape. I've always been like that, and always will. The rivalry lives within me.
I wouldn't say it was clearly intentional. Maybe it was though, I don't know. If it was, then I'd agree it was a total douche move.
Don't get me wrong, I hate the Yankees more than anything outside of the Patriots, but it's gotten to the point where I'm sick of the 4+ hours of garbage baseball. I'd just as soon check in on the game from time to time, watch the highlights, and save myself the aggravation of it all. If they could play some normal games once in a while it would make it much better, but since 2003 it's been the same thing 19 times a year plus playoffs. It's starting to lose its luster a bit.
If Farnsworth were trying to throw behind Manny, the pitch would've been twelve inches off the plate. That said, fuck the "I don't throw inside or hit people" bullshit. It's part of the game, and a vital one. You throw inside. You hit people. Pedro wouldn't have been 1/2 of the pitcher was without being known as as headhunter.
