HYPOTHETICAL TOP 5 MOCK DRAFT == 01. DOLPHINS - Chris Long, DE/OLB, Virginia == 02. RAMS - Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU == 03. FALCONS - Jake Long, OT Michigan == 04. RAIDERS - Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC == 05. CHIEFS - Matt Ryan, QB Boston College == 06. NY JETS - ????? == 07. PATRIOTS - ????? == Very Simple 1. The choice for the Jets is McFadden or Gholston 2. For the sake of this poll, there are no other choices Gotta take one, no trading down and no other options, these are the choices and its mano-a-mano .. and as an aside, not that it should dictate your pick in any way, but as an aside you know the Patriots will take the Other Guy
I didn't know there was one, did I start it? hmy: Anyway, even if there was one, it had to be awhile ago and this stuff fluctuates like the stock market, so with the combines and many of the pro days behind us I think its time to take another read of the McFadden/Gholston markets
There is no argument who the better player is. There could be an argument that Gholston fills a bigger need but in this situation McFadden is BPA by a decent margin.
Glen Dorsey I think we should trade the pick and try to move up and select glen dorsey. I mean we are trying to move Robertson. Mcfadden i think will only be as good as his offensive line. Reggie Bust didnt turn out so well and he had the same hype as D MAC
I personally want Gholston, but I dont see why anyone will compare Reggie Bush to DMC. Plus remember Reggie Bush was awesome in his first year.Lets wait to see how Reggie turns out this season before we label him anything.Remember Mario Williams didn't do too good his first year either.
So many people talk about ghoslton being a beast, but does he play the whole game? Does he take plays off?
Would have to go with Gholston. I know all about all the talent McFadden has, but I just can't take a player who put the ball on the ground 15 times in a 12 game season.
A stronger front 7 bolstered by Gholston will have more of an impact in the team's progress than an improved offense supplemented by DMC. Come the latter part of the season, a defense that destroys the opposition will surely merit more consideration. Thomas and Washington, I believe, will be more than adequate in keeping the chains moving. Gholston, without question, at the 6th spot....if he's still there.
Conversely speaking, did DMC have all the carries or did he share them with someone else this past season?
These are the two guys I have wanted since day one and I would be happy with either. Having said that, I expect the Jets would take DMC if they were both there.
I took DMC only because of your final caveat. If I KNOW the Pats are taking the other of the 2, then I would rather they not get DMC. However, I doubt they take DMC, so without your caveat I take Gholston.
